US Airlines scramble after 100s of passengers had contact with Ebola patient

Hundreds of airline passengers were exposed to the Liberian national before he landed in Dallas, last month, as it is revealed that he took at least three flights to get from Monrovia, Liberia to Texas.

Officials announced that Thomas Eric Duncan flew through Brussels to get to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport - but no airlines operate a direct flight from the European capital to Dallas, meaning he had to take a connecting flight in between.

U.S. officials have refused to release details of his itinerary, including which city he connected through - claiming that none of his fellow passengers are at risk.

Several leading U.S. airlines said on Wednesday they were in close contact with federal health officials about Ebola-related travel.

Airlines for America, the industry trade group, on Wednesday U.S. airlines are in regular contact with the Centers for Disease Control and other government agencies about helping to prevent the spread of Ebola.

Oh come on. Don’t let facts get in the way of a good fun panic and conspiracy fest.

Obama..... you shut down flights from Tel Aviv where no one was actually killed but won’t consider stopping flights into and out of Africa where real death emanates

He won't sent troops to stand ground against the maniacal moslem murderers, BUT he did send 3000 troops to the Ebola ground zero, a probable death sentence.

Do they travel together coming out of there, not knowing if they have been or are being exposed?

Some of the troops coming from Ft Hood in Texas. What's behind the story?

He carried his dying of Ebola landlord to the hospital, just days prior to getting on the plane to the USA - yes, he knew.

I’ve seen a few reports from different news outlets. At least one of them mentioned that he carried the woman’s legs while others held her arms and back. I think the one carrying her from her back has already passed.

One mitigating factor is many people in Western Africa don’t seem to understand how it is spread (or believe it is a hoax, or not caused by a virus, but by evil doctors or something) at the very least.

He has nothing to do with government regulation or lack thereof.

What a ridiculous construct. Endless circular argument.

I just cannot imagine being directly threatened by such a terrible virus.

Maybe he should have thought of that before he acted so irresponsibly.

He quit his job in Liberia...He came here on a visa to see his sister and he was going to stay as an legal alien. My opinion

He is not stupid. He does not give a s___ because he was moving here anyway.

THIS is the real problem. Sending troops (or any other contingent) there specifically to “help”. Troops especially are highly likely to get sent anywhere including back home on leave. This is the real problem, not an occasional medic trying to come home, but some of whom are so dedicated as missionaries that they might never try for years anyway.

I was through Italy, France and so forth in the summer and cabbies told me Ebola was there through African illegals but that it isn't reported because of the travel industry dollars to be lost.

Of course. A man from a country in the middle of the largest historical outbreak has no connection at all with the government that suspended decades old immigration/health laws and let people from that country fly freely into America.

The minor detail that him being allowed in was a direct result of that government’s intentional decisions has no bearing on anything happening whatsoever.

You are quite possibly the smartest person in any room you enter and I bow before your deductive reasoning skills.

I can’t blame him for wanting treatment in the US vs. dying in Liberia. I can blame him for putting hundreds more at risk.

Our job is to keep him the hell out. I could care less what his hopes and aspirations are. Our job is to keep similar people out. Let them stew in Liberia etc

The government’s position on this critical public health matter is controlled by the liberal hydra of multiculturalism, diversity and political correctness to the great peril of many Americans. Rather than hurt the feeeeeelings (H/T Michael Savage) of “people of color” from the oppressed turd world, we have to avoid common sense measures like a flight ban on any flights or passengers originating in the epidemic zone. It is a deadly game of reverse discrimination, putting the very lives of the “privileged” at stake protect the feelings of the underprivileged.

This I can agree with. Not so much that those people are “selfish”, but maybe more strictures should be put on flights, somehow.

Clearly you hate black people. Why else would you want to block people from an african nation over such a trifling matter as ebola? What’s next? The common cold? Is that what you’re saying you racist?

It says clearly on the book lady liberty holds...

“Give us your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to spread hemmoragic fever”.

That’s what it means to be an American and I sir, I am offended.../s
