Well, I don’t know about “environazis”, but I’ve discussed the subject with many an otherwise nice enough person who is a believer in AGW (as a primary climate driver). I just direct them to this:

The TL;DR for that is “We haven’t sold it well enough.” Yeah. Here’s the problem. No sales job is going to do much good when the potential customers think (not entirely without reason) that the product is crap and (with extremely good reason) that even most of the best-known salespeople don’t believe in it.
It would be a simple matter to enlist conservatives in global warming if it were in fact what its proponents say it is. Problem is it is based on lies, deception, manipulation and phoney science. There is no global warming. That is the problem.

Why don’t we just pass a law that requires all doubters to go to special re-education camps?
The authors take it on faith that global warming is not at best an artifact or at worst, a confidence-game massive sting.
They abandon the scientific method, which (IIRC from my freshman classes in...science) begin with developing an hypothesis to explain an observation, testing the hypothesis (making all data and methods available), inviting others to reproduce the results, and encouraging contrary questions and investigation.
There has never, ever been "settled" science; and, any true scientist would welcome thorough and impartial studies to see if results are replicated.
(Any true scientist, by-the-way, would be more than curious about the 3.5 million square miles of sea ice growth in Antarctica and other record cold temps; and maybe that the sea level has not changed a whisker. Of course, true scientists would not use computer models, with variables so numerous and assumptions so loaded that reaching a valid conclusion is not verifiable, on which to base an observed effect.)
