Owner of Ivy Apartments has changed the name of the apartment building and has announced it's for sale at bargain basement price.

I just made this up.

The EMTs are not infected (yet) and are quarantined for 21 days. He was upgraded to serious from critical.

I wonder if these patients who survive build up an immunity to it?

I wouldn’t bet that the ER workers know anything about Africa and what comes from there. Except those who work at the ER who are from Africa.

“Did he fly direct? Did he have a layover?”

According to the Liberian Ministry of Information, he flew through Brussels.

You don’t think that ER doctors and nurses know anything about infectious diseases that are currently causing thousands of deaths in other countries?? Yes, they absolutely do.

And according to the news conference going on right now, the patient told a nurse where he had been, and she didn’t pass the information on to anyone else. Nice job, nurse.

If this turns into a full-blown panic that place could be stampeded and perhaps even burned to the ground.

It's the only way to be sure......../s

Great - did he eat anything there? Go into an airport restroom? Spend the night with a hooker?

The multifaceted permutations of this are almost incomprehensible.

lots of recent immigrants and drug activity

The question then becomes will the population of this apartment not be as responsible about health care as are typical US citizens?

What happens when they go to emergency wards and doctor's offices for visits? Will they infect those locations while they're waiting for care? Is Dallas one of those places with hordes from Central America and other illegals, who are going to hide rather than come forward, fearing deportation?

I find it curious we haven’t heard his itinerary yet.

The news made it look like a direct flight to DFW, however, AA said it doesn’t have that flight. So who would? I get the impression it had at least two legs to it, and if so, why aren’t we hearing about it? Isn’t it relevant to those who flew on those flights and worked them?

I have a friend who works customs at DFW. Her email back used the words “scary” and “pissed as hell”

The EMTs received the "all clear" today?

Gosh, did that 21 day incubation period fly by! (sarcasm)

Proves my point. The nurse knew nothing about Liberia and ebola. Doctors? Maybe. Nurses and techs? Probably not. I was in the hospital in the past 5 years and the nurses aren’t the brightest of the bright. There’s no telling what they’re like today.

Agreed.

Actually, all people traveling from infected areas should be quarantined before being released into the US.

Why not? Could it be because they didn’t think it was important because they’re not up to date? I doubt ebola is being discussed on America’s Got Talent. I don’t know ‘cause I don’t watch it.

“Spend the night with a hooker?”

No, only 15 minutes each with a bunch of hookers.
