Just heard on the radio (WBAP) that a family member of the man with Ebola is now sick with the stuff.

There should be a concern, but it’s contained to the specific family members and close friends at this moment.

He wouldn't have mentioned the close friends (with an s) if the second case was a family member. Ok, the friendS could be living in the house but if not then this thing could have been spread far and wide.

Well- IMHO that could only mean one thing then. It’s positive and they are keeping it quiet as to not cause panic.

Yes. See how quick they were to announce negative results for the ambulance crew?

All who have been in close contact with the diagnosed patient are being monitored ...

I'm with you - "monitored"? What the hell does that mean?

Your link - The Dallas County school district says they're working closely with health officials.

Well, well, well. They lied to us again. Yesterday, it was reported the kids weren't in school. Lemme guess, the CDC was playing word games in that the kids were probably kept home that day so as not to cause panic. We don't know where their house is but doing a quick search, there are 6 schools within about a mile from the hospital.

I still don’t understand someone who goes to their own home for a quarantine like that. The medicos who have had those type of situations turn ‘positive’ in Liberia/etc have had ALL their belongings burned. Even electronics. Imagine trying to sterilize every single item on every single surface in your home. Imagine getting insurance to pay for that...

Large get-togethers are a prominent part of Liberian culture

I had been wondering if they didn't throw a party to welcome him. Food, drink, lots and lots of friends and family partying and hugging and kissing and lots and lots of drink cups, napkins and finger foods all around and a few tears shed for whomever's funeral he attended and...

The Liberian community seems to be on top of this, urging everybody to get tested who may have come into contact with Case 0.

Worrisome thing for me is that Liberians are coming here to ride out the outbreak until it dies down. Black Agnes was talking about a flight from there that was cancelled as of yesterday.. so maybe more than a few are looking to get out while they can.

>>Next Thursday?

The CDC Ebola spread simulation shows that 50% of Ebola cases manifest after 5 & 1/2 days.

Counting back 6 days from 1 October puts us at 26 September, when Case Zero showed up at the hospital the first time.

We will likely be seeing a dozen cases of Ebola all over the nation in the next few days.

We need to be looking for Liberian strongholds all over. I was shocked there were 10K in Dallas!

Yes! D3 - I take that daily.

Also, collodial silver. Very nice list. Buy now, before supplies are hard to get.

That’s what I’ve been asking. He was tested before the Dallas guy so, of course, they know the results. That they’re keeping mum is telling. It’s also very telling on the who and where these patients have been hospitalized. We intentionally brought back the first three who were US medical personnel. This Bethesda guy is also a US doctor. Notice they were shipped to separate Level 4 CDC sanctioned Ebola Units around the country. Putting them in 3 of the 4 units takes some tin foil to reason out. But, now this foreigner walks into your average ol’ hospital and potentially has passed the virus on to the staff and other patients so what’s the head of the CDC supposed to do? The answer is to hold a presser and poo-poo off the seriousness by claiming that your average ol’ hospital can handle Ebola so no worries. Never mind that millions or billions of US tax dollars have been spent to create 4, just 4, of these super duper isolation units around the country. What’s worse, telling the people the government wasted their money again or telling the people the admin goofed by allowing a killer virus to waltz into the country?

Actually that was one of the direct flights from MMA in Lagos Nigeria. There are still 2 airlines operating out of Robertsfield in Monrovia. One of which is Brussels Airlines and appears to be the one the Dallas case used.

“Why hasn’t the local health department quarantined her and her entire household?”

They may have, they were saying yesterday at that press conference that first they were going to test the guy’s family.
