Romney on 2016: “We’ve got a lot of people looking at the race. We’ll see what happens.”

Scout’s honor: Not until today, having read the words of the man himself, have I sincerely believed he might run again. The RomneyWatch™ posts are fun to write but not because Mitt 2016 was a real thing — I thought. They were fun because it wasn’t a real thing. It was a way to collectively pretend-scare ourselves, like playing with a ouija board.

Now, suddenly, I look down and the planchette is moving by itself. And it spells M-I-T-T.

A recent column by the conservative pundit Byron York noted that Romney had kept in close contact with many of his advisers and aides. As we spoke, Romney compared the barrage of 2016-related questions to a scene in the film “Dumb and Dumber.” After Jim Carrey’s character is flatly rejected by Lauren Holly, she tells him that there’s a one-in-a-million chance she would change her mind. “So,” Romney told me, embodying the character, “Jim Carrey says, ‘You’re telling me there’s a chance.’ ”

This was the obvious opening for me to ask if there was a chance. Romney’s response was decidedly meta — “I have nothing to add to the story” — but he then fell into the practiced political parlance of nondenial. “We’ve got a lot of people looking at the race,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.”

Anyone that can’t understand why we ARE going to go through this fiasco again for the -third- time needs to get to Amazon and buy a copy of “48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene. There all your answers will be found.

"Romney had kept in close contact with many of his advisers and aides."

That alone should disqualify him.

Why does the Republican Party reward losers? Both the candidates and the candidate advisors who lose races are held up as the great leaders and advisors.

Well they did such a stellar job last time’S’ trashing principle, the idea of it and anyone with a passing acquaintance with it that he couldn’t very well ask for a finer crew to thrash them again could he?

And with all the support he gets for doing it, From the PDSers to the ‘no matter what morons’, it was a forgone conclusion he would strike up the band for another song.

>> Why does the Republican Party reward losers?

Because they are, collectively, the STUPID PARTY.

Dumber than a box of rocks.

When you add in the fact that they have essentially zero principles beyond corporate welfare and gaining power... it’s altogether a bad scene.

Scott Walker fought the teacher's union and won, and set his state on the right track. I want a governor who is a fighter.

Obamacare is based on Romneycare.

Romney was the first governor to support gay marriage.

Romney believes in big taxes and big government.

Romney not only likes abortion, but fought for tax-supported abortion.

And the list goes on.

Obamacare was bad for America.

Obama was bad for America.

Romneycare was bad for America.

Romney was bad for America in 2012.

Romney will be bad for America in 2016.

Just the other day a freeper was arguing that Romneycare was great for his family and told us all we didn’t know what we were talking about.

A freeper. Long term freeper. Tell me we are not infiltrated.

"He wanted to be president less than anyone I've met in my life. He had no desire to . . . run," said Tagg, who worked with his mother, Ann, to persuade his father to seek the presidency.

I'd say that this was obvious to anyone who watched him, and now they want to support him again? Why does it seem like Lucy teasing Charlie Brown with the football? No thanks, I'll pass.

But you can’t! all the bots will scream and wail about how you love Obama and how your vote magically transmogrifies into a vote for Obama/other Democrat when you don’t cast it for the GOP liberal! It is a conservative thing to do! Elect a liberal with an “R” and you get an indulgence from the Dem Party!

Obviously you hate America! Did you not believe the bots the last 2 elections? They are all wise you know...

We have learned in 2014 that the Republican primary voters are so gullible anything is possible for 2016. Anything bad that is

I wouldn’t worry about Romney as much as I would worry about pig headed conservatives who blew the last primary, and that includes a few I was for who should have backed out much sooner.

Caine was my second choice but how could he be so stupid to not think that a skeleton in his closet would not become an issue? He should not even have started.

Bachmann was my favorite but she never gained traction. She should have dropped out sooner.

I like Newt and he kicked some moderator butt pretty good in the debates but being realistic, he had more baggage than a Pullman car and he would have been the medias entire campaign.

Perry came in a little later but he didn’t seem at all prepared. I could have backed him but he should have got in sooner or backed out sooner or just not entered at all.

I could go on but the conservatives killed each other and left Romney the last man standing. If we get another bunch of pig headed conservatives, there is a good chance a Romneyesque candidate will win and the Dems will beat his/her ass.
