How can that be?! Many on FR say we have the best health care in the world and will be all over this little virus. What - they thought he just had the flu?
I am thinking that he was not honest with the first set of healthcare workers that he saw.He most likely never told them that he recently came from Liberia. He probably was either in denial, or deliberately trying to spread the disease.

Could be. Or he didn’t want to risk being quarantined and miss out on his vacation. I would have hoped that a dark-skinned foreigner speaking lousy English might have been a hint (big assumption on my part) would raise a flag - but not today. People living here for 20 years still need interpreters.
I’m trying to think of the last time I went to the hospital. I’m not sure, but I would think a name and address would be important. Although they could have given the Dallas address they were visiting.
