We’ve established that there isn’t a direct flight from Liberia to the US right now. So he had to have made at least 2 hops between Monrovia and Dallas. Let’s hope he wasn’t symptomatic for any of those.

It doesn't mean that he wasn't contagious. Scientists are not entirely sure about all the ways Ebola can be communicated. Deaths of many doctors in Africa are a clear proof of that - they were not protecting themselves enough. In the USA Ebola is studied in biosafety level 4 labs (the highest.)

United flies Lagos-Houston.

Lagos is in Nigeria, not in Liberia. 972.46 miles as crow flies. He had to take a regional jet for that hop.
