An internal Secret Service report revealed more than 1,000 security breaches and vulnerabilities, according to a House investigator who said that a politically correct culture is endangering President Obama.
There are new details that will come out that you really have to question if security is their number one objective, Representative Jason Chaffetz (R., Utah), who sits on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that is holding a Tuesday hearing on the Secret Service, tells National Review Online. They want to be politically correct.
Chaffetz backs that up by reference to the Secret Services statement on the most recent security breach, when a man jumped the White House fence and entered the building before being stopped.
Although last night the officers showed tremendous restraint and discipline in dealing with this subject, the location of Gonzalezs arrest is not acceptable, the Secret Service press release said. (That statement was issued before whistleblowers revealed that the fence-jumper made it all the way to the East Room of the White House, on the second floor.)
When is that the goal and objective of the Secret Service? Restraint? Because he had no apparent weapons? Chaffetz points out. In this day and age of ISIS and suicide bombers, we dont know what he has underneath of his clothing. He could have a dirty bomb or improvised explosive device. You just dont know. Its totally unfair for an agent to have to make a split second decision on whether or not to use lethal force. If you cant get a dog or a person in between the person rushing the White House and the White House itself, you may have to use a more lethal weapon.
Chaffetz emphasizes that there are a lot of very good men and women at the Secret Service, but he said that the leadership of the Secret Service has been politicized since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
When 9/11 happened and they reconfigure the Secret Service took it out of Treasury; put it in Homeland Security and made the director a Senate-confirmed position, it seems to me it became much more of a political appointee as opposed to a director who is a career servant person, the congressman says.
The result has been a major breakdown in the morale and effectiveness of the people tasked with protecting the First Family.
I want to hear out the director, I want to give her a chance to try to explain herself, but Im going into the hearing with the strong impression that there is a total failure in leadership and questionable protocol, Chaffetz says.
That concern springs in part from an internal report that surveyed 6,500 Secret Service agents, asking if they had observed any vulnerabilities or security breaches.
And they had all these different boxes you could check. More than 1,000 of these boxes were checked, Chaffetz says. Now, that doesnt mean a thousand of the 6,500 agents saw something, but there were enough agents to highlight more than 1,000 security vulnerabilities and breaches that really, really scare me.
Do we need to ask the color of her skin?
Pray America wakes up
Well, it doesn’t seem like we’ve learned anything.
Thanks for the comments.
“.... East Room of the White House, on the second floor.”
IF Gonzales jumped the fence and entered the front (Pennsylvania Avenue side) of the White House, the East Room is not that far from the front door on the same level. From that direction it would be considered “street level.” It’s the 2nd floor, and reached by stairs if entering from the Executive Park or Ellipse side of the White House. That lower floor (1st floor)is not visible (or, as far as I can tell, able to be entered) from Pennsylvania Avenue.
No doubt the Secret Service mission statement now includes the mandate to fight climate change. Shooting, or even catching a White House intruder would release large quantities of greenhouse gases. (To minimize one’s carbon footprint, one should sit quietly & play with your phone, or whatever.)
What surprises me is that our Fuhrer has not insisted on Gestapo like security for himself. His predecessor, the first Fuhrer, was obsessed with his own personal security. I’m guessing our Fuhrer is too distracted by golf, celebrities, & his own image on TV. After all, who would want to kill the divine One?
Watching the video at the point where the guy has reached the porch of the White House, did I not see a uniformed officer to the left on the porch (within feet of the intruder) with his gun drawn on the intruder as he past toward the door?...
I agree, in fact they are doing a remarkable job, when you consider that in this administration, incompetence is so highly regarded and continually rewarded.
That’s D.C. for you.
LOL
“We are allowing our nation to become an open borders international dumping ground.”
Is there even enough of a majority left that is willing to fix this? It is scary what is happening.
I just tried to find the video you are referencing.
If it’s the one shot from outside the fence that seems go show a big white object in front of the screen for a moment or so, I did see some figures on the left seemingly reacting to this guy.
Not sure if they had drawn weapons yet.
If you have seen a clearer video, and they did have guns drawn, it makes you wonder why they didn’t open fire on this guy.
If we want a good, functional Secret Service for the next president we need to start fixing the Secret Service now.
They're there to make sure Barry has a secret place to escape Michelle to have a bong and a cigarette.
Good question.
You can take the best cause around, without a leader to promote it, it will fail.
Conservatism 2014
Yes, but must they keep the bong warm in-between visits? LOL
I think most of the Secret Service men and women are dedicated people. This incident is simply inexcusable, but I believe that for the most party they do a great job.
...
And then you realize what you just said, and that this reveals there are gaps, and those gaps are the real danger.
This must be rectified immediately.
Maybe there are some patriots in the secret service after all and know exactly what they’re doing, or not doing. Chavetz needs to shut the hell up and let them do, or not do, their job.
Everyone on this thread is missing the point entirely. If 0 bites a bullet, there will be martial law imposed and the swift roundup of “domestic terrorists” (i.e. normal people the likes of you and me), and the “fundamental transformation” will REALLY begin. Don’t forget the message in that creepy black widow dress Michelle wore on the night of the first inauguration. I truly thought at that time that the purpose of that dress was letting the world know what was about to unfold.
These “lapses” may be part of the plan.
I’ll buy the explanation that there is a reduced level of protection of the WH when the first family is not in residence.

Told Ya So: Chick Secret Service Agent Overpowered by WH Intruder; Did She Break a Nail?
By Debbie Schlussel
We now know that knife-wielding White House intruder Omar Gonzalez got as far as the East Room. And we know that he got there in part because he easily overpowered a FEMALE Secret Service Agent. Shocker.
Obama w/ his Incompetent Secret Service Chieftess Julia Pierson
Last week, I told you that the ongoing problemsfailures!at the U.S. Secret Service at the White House can be directly attributed to Obamas affirmative action police: he hired a woman to run the agency based on her sole qualifications of past ability to ovulate (though only her gynecologist knows for sure if that once existed) and Billie Jean Kings haircut from 1982. Now we know that women in the Secret Service are part of the reason for its failure, not just at the top, but in its midst.
>>Can you imagine, every state in the country would have 100 things named after him...In memory of of.<<
Yes, I can. They will be mementos of where NOT to go. Kind of like the way MLK Blvd’s are these days.
