Facial abrasions (especially above the left eye and below the right eye), dirty greasy hair, extreme smile while keeping her lips clenched (possibly hiding teeth that coincide with the rest of her unkempt features, and crusty leftovers in her purse).

That is a rough looking 23.

My comments about her “faces of meth” appearance were tongue-in-cheek, and not meant to be a conclusive verdict of guilt or innocence on anyone’s part. However, I have since read a couple more articles about this, and it seems there’s more to the story. Like the glass pipe, the spoon being burnt, her nervous demeanor, her initially giving a false name, and the sores not just on her face but all over her body, and a few minor details that just don’t add up.

I’m pretty sure I still don’t know the whole story, but I maintain that is a very rough looking 23 year old.

I'm 24 and a mother of five and there's plenty of days when I WISH I looked as good as that girl!

I've looked all over and finally found the article. Here's what's up: Cops in Georgia are no picnic. They will simply make some crap up. You think for a second that if the cop found a 'glass smoking device' that this would not have been seized as evidence? It's not in evidence, therefore, the cop is lying. As far as sores, I'm not seeing any on her face, so if the cop says he saw them there and on her body, well, I take the claim with the same credibility as the claim of sores on her face and a glass smoking device.

According to the article, she didn't give a false name on first contact/arrest. She missed a pretrial, then gave a false name in another encounter (in Jackson County). Not wise, but a little less damning, and slightly more understandable, after the first encounter with overzealous Hall County cops.

I'm not even seeing them, but let's say they exist: Facial abrasions are part and parcel of dealing with cops these days. So is being nervous. And a forced smile on a mug shot, not revealing teeth, hmmmmmm.... yeah, okay, that one is a dead giveaway per guilt.

Maybe, but she looks better than I and my friends looked after a weekend of hard partying when I was 23.

Given the very mild quality of the contusion and abrasion coupled with her very fair complexion, I would guess they came from an officer putting his hand over head as she was pushed into the back seat of a squad car. It wouldn't take much for her to bruise. My guess is the steel bracelets probably also left some nice marks.

Same thing with the hair: I lived a few years ago in a semi-rural part of Indiana where abuse of hair product was a constant among young, working class white women. If it were greasy, it would shiny and flat on her head, but it isn't.

I have also known some alcoholics and drug addicts, and she doesn't look at all that way to me: no sallow complexion, no deep bags under the eyes from lack of sleep.

I suppose our experiences must just lead us to different judgments, but from the (few) details in the report, the whole thing smells like another bogus "traffic violation" fishing expedition.
