Monday on CNN's "The Lead," host Jake Tapper said the man who beheaded his co worker in Oklahoma on Thursday, Alton Nolen, was "clearly an Islamic extremist."
Tapper said, "Some call this a case of workplace violence. The suspect's devolution into the world of radical Islam is hard to ignore."

If he praises Allah while he does it, he can claim it’s an honor killing.
“Islamic extremist” is needlessly redundant and purposely misleading.
If he was recently converted to Islam, was causing trouble at work related to trying to convert others, and was fired for that reason, I think you might have a case for terming this terrorism.
If the staff at the job site expressed views openly denigrating to Islam and an issue arose centered on that, and he was fired for incompatibility with the other staff, then you might have a good case also.
If he was fired for not performing, not meeting quotas, not providing the quality of output required, and he came back to get even, then I don’t see terrorism.
Trisham, I’m trying to do this logically. This is what makes sense to me. Each of us have to come to our own conclusions.
Where I fault Obama here, is that he didn’t simply make a statement acknowledging loss and show sympathy for the families or co-workers.
It’s the same thing (for me) with that captive soldier in Mexico.
At his core, this guy doesn’t care about our citizens, the common man.

Here’s my problem: it seems as though muslims tend to torture and kill non-muslims. I’m not sure that is not terrorism, regardless of the instigating event.
Look at the Westboro (sp?) church clan. If one of those wing-nuts killed someone, do you think it would be terrorism or simply murder?
It would be vile, but I’d term it murder.
If they bombed a public venue, obviously I’d have to alter my opinion.
I do happen to think that their tactics at funerals border on terrorism BTW. A murder at one of those funerals could easily be seen as terrorism.
I don’t think you should change your opinion based on my comments. Simple give them some thought and do what makes sense to you.

Well, according to your logic, the Boston Marathon bombings (there were two bombs, I believe; hence, the plural) were not terrorist acts, unless they were intended to scare off runners from breaking a major sweat.
Causing the public to be fearful of participating in public events, is a tactic of terrorism.
The perp need not announce the reason for the act. Simply causing public panic and fear is a terrorist act by itself.

This Oklahoma nut-job wasn’t going to convince folks that showing up at work anywhere was a bad idea.
It just didn’t have a cause and effect connection IMO.

Look, I’m not infallible here. I could be wrong. I see plenty wrong with this guy, and think his mosque is highly suspect. I’m open to alternate reasoning.

I agree that Islam attract types of people who are either insecure or full of anger. Black men in prisons are perfect targets, IMHO, for Islamic Imans to convert them. Lots of black men do not like women, for the fact that they are fatherless, and have no respect for their mothers or sisters.
