According to some stats, almost 3/4, and another substantial chunk are 15-25yo black inner-city males killing non-blacks. And very few if any of the weapons involved are owned legally.
I’ve also read that if you exclude Los Angeles, Chicago, DC, Detroit, and (I think) New Orleans, the number of gun homicides drops to statistically zero (or damn near).
Yep. But it’s much easier for lazy police departments, and more dramatic for politicians, to make it more difficult for law abiding citizens to be armed. If there was truly concern about public safety, guns would not be the issue, and the difficult job of cleaning up (or fencing off/s) the inner cities would commence.
