Why Is The Middle East Failing? Because There Are Too Many Young Men, And No Women
Forbes ^ | September 26, 2014 | Roger Scruton

Events in Afghanistan and the Middle East have awakened the Western world to the existence of an existential threat. We are not confronting a specific grievance that could be remedied by negotiation. We are not faced simply with rogue regimes and insurgent groups that can be dealt with through sanctions and reciprocal menaces. The threat is rooted in biological and cultural conditions that we cannot change by politics, and which have in any case pushed politics aside.

The Middle East is, as we are discovering, not one thing: on the contrary, it is a patchwork of communities whose peaceful coexistence depended on conditions that no longer exist. And many of those communities are in the habit of producing the two greatest scourges of the human race: young men without women, and puritanical rage. These same scourges have visited Afghanistan and North Africa, and they lie dormant throughout the Islamic world.

It is true that in Turkey and large parts of the Levant women have obtained a kind of social equality with men: but it is a precarious equality. Thanks to Atatürk polygamy was abolished in Turkey and women were encouraged to enter public life. Their status as the unspeakable ‘secret’ was removed, their faces were revealed, their soothing presence was everywhere perceivable. Thanks also to Atatürk the other great solvent of social tension – alcohol – was permitted and, while drunkenness is rightly viewed with anger all across the Middle East, the example of Turkey has helped many of those ancient communities to let their hair down and relax together over a bottle.

Remove wine and women, however, and the tension quickly escalates.....

Well, I don’t discount anything...but I doubt it has anything to do with lack of women. From what I have read, China has a huge shortage of women. Their society hasn’t crumbled...yet.

But China does have an autocratic government which many of the countries in the ME had until recently.

As badly as I hate to say this, I really don’t think most of the ME countries can handle freedom. They evidently need a dictator.

I can’t believe that if Sadam or that kook that was in Libya (to name two) were alive any of this would be going on. As horrendous as they were they would have crushed the ISIL or whoever they are like bugs.

Sure, these people have been at war since the beginning of time...but it wasn’t all out chaos.

John Quincy Adams, sixth US President (1825-1829), wrote after his presidency and before his election to Congress in 1830:

... “The precept of the Koran is perpetual war against all who deny that Mahomet is the prophet of God... The vanquished may purchase their lives, by the payment of tribute; ....the victorious may be appeased by a false and delusive promise of peace;.... and the faithful follower of the prophet, may submit to the imperious necessities of defeat:.....

..... but the command to propagate the Moslem creed by the sword is always obligatory, when it can be made effective.... Mohamet declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind…...... Between Christianity and Islam, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged...... The war is yet flagrant…

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist church (1703-1791) preferred clarity over ambiguity when describing Islam:

“Ever since the religion of Islam appeared in the world, the espousers of it… have been as wolves and tigers to all other nations, rending and tearing all that fell into their merciless paws…. Such was, and is at this day, the rage, the fury, the revenge, of these destroyers of human kind”.

USA needs one too.

Time to start thinking outside the box.

The clowns in DC have NEVER solved a problem, they only create them.

Now that parasites have the vote, only a dictatorship can neutralize the Political Class and apparatchiks in DC and advance the interests of REAL AMERICANS in the heartland.

We have enemies foreign and domestic, but the domestic enemy operates unmolested.

The party is over.

Too Many Young Men, And No Women.

Maybe if they stop chopping them up, burying them alive, stoning them to death...

Hey, I’m all for reducing the number of young men in the middle east....say, a thousand at a time.

The Muslim world is heading for another “30 years war” like Europe had 3 and a half centuries ago. A long war that grinds up 1/3 of their male population.

You know, the irony here is that there are a lot of individuals here that are like that too, and they are usually bereft of faith and/or big socialism/communal BS preachers.

You’ve apparently gotta hate on the happy to be comfortable or justified in your misery!

But what if we were to end up with a permanent Obama?

I can think of other ways since this is for a most part a civil society.

What is the symbol?

They really don’t care if so.... efforts to be “nice” when they should have been clamping down hard is the price now they pay...and so won’t we.

Most wouldn’t...those who do lack critical thinking skills so they’ll fit right in.

Dictators either advance the interests of the people or are removed and replaced.

Understand that the Republic established in 1787 is no longer viable due to Universal Suffrage.

The symbol is an upside down wine glass, signifying that the status quo is off the table.

The Second American Republic must be established.

That will not happen sans a dictatorship period.

Alrighty then.

Since we have already discussed Universal Suffrage in a long ago past debate...I don’t think I’ll go there again. The only thing banging my head on the wall does is give me a headache.

Islam mandates inbreeding for marriages (but not for rapes). Here is the world inbreeding map. The darker the color, the more inbred the country.
