Huckabee: If Just 10 Percent More Evangelicals Had Voted, Obama Would Not Be President
Christian Post ^ | 09/27/2014 | Napp Nazworth

WASHINGTON — Gov. Mike Huckabee encouraged pastors to speak out on political issues and for social conservatives to get more fellow adherents registered and to the polls.

Social conservatives are not in trouble because of the actions of government, they are in trouble because social conservatives are not speaking out and are not voting in large numbers, Huckabee said Friday at the Family Research Council's Values Voter Summit.

Huckabee estimated that there are probably over 100 million social conservatives in the United States. Using just the example of Evangelicals, he said there are about 80 million, but only half of them are even registered to vote, and of those who are registered, only 20 million actually vote in a presidential year.

An even smaller number, about 10 million, vote in midterm elections and an even smaller number than that vote in the primary elections that determine who the major party candidates will be.

"What would happen," he asked, "if, instead of half of those voters being registered, 75 percent of them were? And what would happen if, instead of half of them voting, 75 percent of them voted? If 10 percent more Evangelicals had voted in the last presidential election, we would have a different president than the one we have right now."

Huckabee also cited research conducted by George Barna, a Christian pollster, showing that 90 percent of pastors believe that the Bible speaks to the important issues of the day, but only 10 percent of pastors say they preach and teach on what the Bible says about the important issues of the day.

Politicians will listen to the concerns of social conservatives if they speak out more and vote in higher numbers, Huckabee explained.

If the RINO Establishment would stop foisting left-wing ringers, maybe more Conservatives and devoutly religious folk would turn out to vote.

Those crazy moderates. If they win, evangelicals are to be ignored and had nothing to do with getting them elected to office. If they lose, it’s because not enough evangelicals voted for them. You’d think their dysfunctional little world revolved around some strange form of denial pertaining to evangelicals or something.

This has been debunked multiple times. More Evangelicals voted for Romney than voted for Bush. Romney lost because he quit after the second debate—no one’s fault but his.

By the way, you will see what happens when conservatives do not vote for your Quislings. This next few years will prove that your progressive republican platform is dead. The Republican leadership has said they don’t want conservatives, and I believe them.

I really didn't want Mitt for a number of reasons, one of them being his being a Mormon but did vote for him as opposed to letting a Muslim lead our country!

What really incensed me about the man is that he spent millions trashing other possible GOP contenders, prior to their barely getting into the campaign!

I guess if you want to play with the "big boys" you'd best be able to take on the rough and tumble - and that's what a number of our folk found out, much too late in the game!!

The Mittster was far harsher on Michelle Bachmann than on Barack Obama and that really grated on me most of all.

If there hadn’t been voter fraud and a stolen election, he wouldn’t be president.

I agree! Then, when the going got tough he wilted like a neglected flower!

A lot of purists refused to vote for the much-less-than-perfect Mormon Romney.

So we got the much-much-worse muslim 0 and are now seeing our way of life and liberties destroyed.

And there were FReepers who stayed home and let it happen.

I don’t think that’s what he said or implied.

Now, given that God has commanded us not to Murder and has proclaimed that Sodomy is not only a sin but an Abomination, do you think that God would have voted for Mitt Romney since he supported both the Murder of Unborn Babies and the Homosexual Agenda (Homos in the Boy Scouts and Military, and Gay Adoption)?

If you don't believe that God would have voted for Romney, or in the parlance of the GOP-E, the lesser of two evils, why should Christians who are commanded by God himself to be Holy, as He is Holy?

I tried to make the math involved in this equation as simple as I could since you appear to be really having a hard time understanding why conservative Christians could not vote for either Obama or Romney.

In 2012, I believe the choice was between the lesser of the two evils (for want of a better word ).

Do you want to accelerate the decline of America, or slow it down?

Apparently many chose acceleration.

An interesting question. Are you familiar with the "frogs in a pot" analogy? What do the frogs do if they heat gets turned up too quickly?

QUICK! LET’S NOMINATE A SQUISHY DEMOCRAT-LITE! THAT’LL GET ALL THOSE SWING-VOTE MODERATES OUT FOR US!

Whaddya mean if given a choice between Democrat and Democrat-Lite that the American public always picks the Democrat?

STUPID EVANGELICALS/PURISTS/POOPYHEADS NOT VOTING FOR OUR DEMOCRAT-LITE CANDIDATE! YOU RUINED OUR PERFECT PLAN! WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN A REPUBLICAN IN OFFICE AND WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN CHARGE AND IMPLEMENTING ALL SORTS OF DEMOCRAT-LITE AGENDA ITEMS!

All of the above is sarcasm, in case somebody didn’t pick that up.

Also, I have a running bet with my oldest son that Jeb Bush will be the GOP nominee in 2016. Not that I want Jeb at all, just that the GOP is too busy trying to p*** off conservatives to field a winning candidate, and Jebtastic is the only viable candidate who could definitely lose against the Hildabeast.

You may have a point.

Scripture clearly says that the Almighty enthrones and dethrones our leaders.

He gives us what we need or deserve, to accomplish His purpose.

Considering that, perhaps sitting home and whining is merely one way of accepting the Lord’s will in punishing a godless society by giving them the leader they deserve instead of the one they need.

If ten percent more evangelicals had voted, the Democrat fraud machine would have had to work harder to fake the win. We need to get an overwhelming majority of conservatives to the polls in 2014 and in 2016 so that these elections are outside the margin of fraud.

It's totally disgusting when politicians slice and dice others they are envious of, then soft pedal their comments of lesser competitors.

You can always tell whom politicians (especially liberals) fear the most, some about whom they will say the most vicious, mean-spirited, hateful and loathsome comments about.

Mitt didn't leave much room for chance, he trashed every potential GOP rival but used velvet gloves on Obama!
