The GOPe will prove its secret support for Obamacare by refusing to reverse it and supporting its amendment.
Obamacare was needed to increase cash flow into medical insurance companies and hospitals because of all those Mitt Romney called “freeloaders” in the system. The solution of O-Care was to make everyone buy insurance, cancel old insurance and replace it with new more expensive insurance.
Romneycare was implemented when Mitt was governor in Massachusetts doing the same thing to insurance costs there.
Technically, ‘nuts-and-bolts’, the healthcare horse is now out of the barn.
This is how they are thinking:
“You break it, you own it. Obama broke it, and if we try to tamper with his legacy, NO ONE will be happy with our solution.”
It’s not their fault that there are a billion possible solutions. It would take a rare leader like Ronald Reagan to unite the GOP behind a single plan reg. health care. I think if Hannity were President, he might pull it off. Or maybe Beck. They are demonstrating leadership skills beyond their career positions, and Hannity in particular makes Health Care solutions sound simple.
But who can foresee any talk radio host will being respected enough in the next two years? And no politician of today is both respected by Congress and anything close to Reagan at the same time.
