Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said it was unfortunate that Republicans continue to block legislation that aims to address the effects of climate change.
This is a crisis and weve got address it, Sanders said Tuesday. The bad news is that Republicans in Congress, many of whom dont even believe the scientific consensus that global warming is a growing threat to our planet, continue to block legislation to address the planetary crisis.
Sanders comments were prompted by President Obamas speech on climate change at the United Nations. Obama said this is the generation with the power to prevent a global climate crisis.
I appreciate President Obamas call for the United States to be a leader on climate change, Sanders said. The president can and should do more, but the actions he announced today like new agreements to reduce methane pollution are important steps toward tackling the planetary crisis of global warming.
Republicans have blocked legislation introduced by Sanders that would tax carbon and methane emissions. He said his bill would then use the revenue generated by the tax to lower consumers bills for cleaner energy sources.
Some Republicans, such as Sen. James Inhofe (Okla.), oppose a carbon tax because they believe climate change is a hoax and that forcing new, clean energy sources on the U.S. market would increase prices.
Bernie Sanders may find him self in the same level of Hell that Hitler is in if his destructive ideas are believed. If the whole world believes this nonsense there will be unbelievable suffering, totalitarian dictatorships and sub third world poverty, except for the government elites.
When you think about it, the Global Cooling people had it correct.
Carbon protects our ozone from the suns rays. Remove the carbon, the suns rays get through, making it hotter. As you burn fossil fuels, the carbon goes into the atmosphere, protecting us from the heat of the sun.
In the 70’s, they said we would freeze if we didn’t get rid of the carbon. So we did, and it got warm. Now the libs are saying we need to remove even more carbon from the atmosphere in order to keep us from burning up.
See the problem? The Global Warming nuts are killing us by insisting we keep removing carbon from the atmosphere, when in essence we need to drill more and produce more carbon to save us from burning up.
Call it, what is that phrase? Oh yes, “unintended consequences.”
Note: This hypothesis is absolutely ridiculous and should not be taken seriously. But use it against the libs and they will absolutely go apoplectic. I throw in, “Fossil fuels is God’s way of regulating our planets climate. By giving us intelligence, he gave us the ability to figure it out, unlike the dinosaurs who had a brain like.. well, liberals.”
Could add:
Is it the same as yesteryear? It is caused by Global Climate Change.
I like to tell libs that if they are serious about reducing global warming, then they should stop recycling paper. Throw it in the trash, not in a recycling bin.
Paper is made from trees planted in farms just like any other crop (only it takes this crop a lot longer to grow). If you recycle paper, less trees are planted in tree farms and less carbon is removed from the atmosphere.
If you throw your paper in the trash, it will end up buried in landfills, removing the carbon from the atmosphere. More trees will be needed to produce new paper resulting in more trees planted in tree farms.
This hypothesis is not absolutely ridiculous (just mostly ridiculous).
Mission Accomplished!
Change the research grant criteria and all of those computer models would make the “correct” prediction of mission accomplished...:^)
Cheers!
Not only seen it, but it’s in my 7 year old “draft” email of articles (in the hundreds).
But thanks, nonetheless. ;-)

So, Bernie, is it a crisis or not, make up your mind.
Uh,,,, CONGRESS is composed of a SENATE and a HOUSE. The Senate has Senators and the House has Representatives. BOTH Senators and Representatives are CONGRESSMEN.
