....Obamas speech...reminded me of a certain other American president who dealt with terrorist threats during his time in office. The difference between Obama and President George W. Bush is that Obama is late to the game and lacks credibility. Also, we know that Obamas speeches are not necessarily connected to any particular effort or outcome. His reputation for failing to follow through on his pledges or should I say, red lines means that many of our allies and enemies see our president as unreliable.

Obama is vying to become another of the Bush Bros.
Easy answer: bowing is worse, since it is a gesture of subordination to a foreign ruler, which is not only "bad optics," but also a slap in the face to the core historical and American values that Obama always likes to invoke when it suits him, even though he has no concept of what they actually are.
Smooching, on the other hand, is an act between equals. Still repugnant, but not the outright affront committed when a U.S. president bows in subordination to a foreign monarch.
