Former U.S. Rep. James Traficant Jr., who spent time in prison on corruption and racketeering charges, has been critically injured in a tractor accident at his northeast Ohio home.

Traficant’s wife, Tish, told The (Youngstown) Vindicator that the 73-year-old former congressman was in “very critical condition” on Wednesday following the Tuesday night accident on his family farm in Greenford.

Bob Dornan (B1 Bob)

B-1 Bob was always a fascinating conversationalist. He was able to turn any issue back to a simple matter of :
The Ballistics of the 30-06, and the .50 BMG
WWII NAZI Fighter Planes
Synopsis of the Battle of Kursk
How great "his" Mexican Domestic Staff was or is,
... and of course .... the B-1 Bomber!

Spent best years'o'my life talking to B-1 about Illegal Immigration, to be totally ignored until a Mexican crook stole HIS job!

Jimmy T? Not in B-1's class as a conversationalist, but not bad, not bad at all. His mistake? Taking on the Clintons when there were some spots on his own white cloak! The real question is wtf was this Steubenville (or maybe it was Warren) Corner Boy doing on a tractor?

BTW, the once-thriving industrial empire whose union people he represented is a pathetic mess now. No jobs. No hope. Geezer-Pensions trying to support three generations.

Get well Jimmy. I'm praying for you .... really really like you ...... even if I wouldn't dream of voting for you.

Ole Skunkhead was a hoot to watch. He might even be crazier than Nancy Pelosi.

Traficant was a hundred times better for America than Nancy Pelosi.

He made his mark in politics as Mahoning County Sheriff in the late 70’s. When the steel industry collapsed he basically refused to serve eviction or foreclosure notices on steelworkers.

That little abuse of authority brought him fame and undying loyalty in the Mahoning Valley.

His best quote was “I love my country but I hate my government”. I pray he recovers.

Traficant was driving a 1943 Ford tractor about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday at his family farm on West South Range Road about 140 feet into a large pole barn when the vehicle struck a large steel bade on the ground. That caused the tractor to flip with Traficant still in the vehicle’s seat, but trapped with the tractor on top of him

Sorry to hear this.

Tractors can be very dangerous, they have almost SUV like abilities.

My Dad crushed his chest a bit in a barn, broke some ribs on a Deere. He was lucky.

A family friend died on an old Ford on a side slope, he was not so lucky.

Hope he pulls thru, but his riding days are likely over.

At that age you need to be very careful, or you just might get “beamed up”.
