A better host has a better change. But the bow wave of a virus through a naive population is not a pretty thing. You are kidding yourself if you think gatorade and nutrition will make much of a difference. Ive seen it a couple times now, and even the young healthies get sick - and sometimes even sicker than us old codgers.....

I think your point about the naive population is unfortunately the case. People think diet coke is nutritious and McDonalds is actually food.
Your point about old codgers is good, in my opinion, because we (and I am one) have been through enough illnesses to have built up antibodies and the mental attitude to do whatever it takes to defeat these things.
The human body is both amazingly easy to kill and surprisingly resilient to attack.
