Many years ago when I was in college I worked in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Most of our babies were premature babies, some born as early as 6 months gestation. Literally around the corner in the same hospital there was a unit euphemistically called the “Fertility Control Center” where babies were being killed by abortion. Some of them were older, gestationally, than those we were legally required to save in the NICU. I thought to myself that the only difference between the ones who we were legally required to save, and those who were being killed about 100 paces away, was that the ones in the NICU were wanted by their mothers. And I thought it’s a very bad road to go down to say that we can kill some people because they’re not wanted. That’s rather Hitlerian, I think. Ever since, I’ve been 100% pro-life.
Very well said!
