Weapons procurement showed striking reductions from last year’s plans. Then, the Navy planned to buy 980 Tactical Tomahawks, the primary cruise missile in use throughout the fleet. The new plan shows only 100 missiles in 2015 and none thereafter.

The reduction reflects shifting investment to a new next-generation land attack weapon, said Lt. Caroline Hutcheson, a Navy spokeswoman at the Pentagon, who also noted that the current inventory of Block IV Tactical Tomahawks exceeds combat requirements. A recertification line for existing missiles will be established to retain effectiveness of current TacToms, she added.

Clinton looked at Bush and the 9/11 attack and wished it could have been him and happened on his watch, so his heroic response to it could have defined him, his presidency and his legacy.

Jimmy Carter looks at the success zerobama has had subduing our military and he wets himself, wishing it could have been him and happened on his watch, as he watches zerobama surpass what defined him, his presidency and his legacy.

but can they be programmed to terminate on a ‘lit up’ target (once they've gotten into the general vicinity via their geo-tracking capabilities)?

Nope. Cruise missiles are lat/long seekers. Various missile types have systems to seek infrared or RADAR reflections, but few have the capability to do more that that. When I flew Prowlers, we had HARM that could fly to an initial lat/long and then seek RADAR emissions. LGB's seek reflected laser or IR but not electronics.

The physical limitations are in the seeking method.

Nothing we do in the military is economical.
It comes down to effectiveness and willingness to accept casualties. I think the grunts feel those million dollar missiles are worth it if they don’t risk getting shot....

Using multimillion dollar weapons to take out pick up trucks is not very economical

Depends upon the truck...

What ordinance and equipment was used by the coalition forces in this attack? Or is Obama and Company just blowing smoke again?

Resources are still finite. You do have the choice on what weapons systems to use. For example, you don't use a 2,000 LB bomb to take out a pick up truck or a sniper. We have other weapons systems that are more suited to close air support.

What moron wrote this piece telling the enemy our weapon strength? If they used 47 missiles and it’s 47% of the year’s allotment, then it’s not too difficult to figure out what our reserve is.

Just use something like this.

Package for Mr. Mohammed. Package for Mr. Mohammed.

“What ordinance and equipment was used by the coalition forces in this attack? Or is Obama and Company just blowing smoke again?”

Yes, my thoughts exactly.

The same wealthy countries that support and fund these terrorists are now are so-called “allies” in the war.

Yet, the U.S. continues to pay the freight on these incursions including the deaths of our military personnel.

While the late Ike and his followers fret about a ‘military-industrial complex’, America is being bankrupted by the Welfare-Activist-IllegalAlien Complex.

We go deeper in debt every year for gibsmedat than we do for military. For our gibsmedat expenditures, we get an expanding, resentful, entitled, and violent parasite class. For our military expenditures, we get at least a fighting chance of keeping foreign enemies off our shores.

Your Amazon PrimeAir UAV is essentially a cruise missile. It launches, flies a programmed route to a programmed coordinate, and delivers its payload. It doesn’t seek Mr. Mohammed, it flies to his listed mailing address.

Precisely.
$1.5m would buy a lot of semi competent mercenaries that can recover territory in Iraq that the Iraqi military is still losing and getting massacred over.
