Google is breaking ties with the American Legislative Exchange Council, a prominent network of conservative state legislators that, among other projects, works to roll back laws that promote solar and wind power, the company's chairman said Monday.
The decision marks a major victory for a campaign by environmentalists, union activists and other liberal groups that have pushed companies to drop support for ALEC. Microsoft ended its ties to the group a few weeks ago.
The consensus within the company was that that was some sort of mistake, Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt said, referring to the initial decision to support ALEC.
Everyone understands climate change is occurring, and the people who oppose it are really hurting our children and our grandchildren and making the world a much worse place," Schmidt said in an interview with National Public Radios Diane Rehm. "And so we should not be aligned with such people -- they're just, they're just literally lying.

Everyone should understand that the alternative energy industry is just an alternative way for bribes and kickbacks to move between politicians and their “constituents”.
equals "if you don't support massive government subsidies of industries that have no way to survive economically on their own merits - you want to kill grandchildren..."
>> “Everyone understands climate change is occurring”
Nonsense. Where I live, it’s a constant 68 degrees Fahrenheit with the exact same, sparse cloud pattern every damn day. Wind speed also constant 12 knots North East despite the unchanging globular fluff in the sky. Nope. Absolutely no climate change where I live.
Whatever happened to the Google executive that was so involved in the “arab spring?” Google and this clown were taking so much credit for overthrowing the Egyptian government — all their tech bs.
Thousands of people lost their lives because of the overthrow. As it turned out, it wasn’t something that the people of Egypt really wanted. I haven’t seen any more articles on this clown google executive since then.
He should be locked in prison with the muslim brotherhood and the rest of the clowns that tried to take over the Egyptian government.
Yeah, Google seemed all behind him at the time. Not much from them since.
Just a reminder of Google politics.
“Everyone understands climate change is occurring, and the people who oppose it are really hurting our children and our grandchildren and making the world a much worse place”
Funny,I don’t understand that, and, judging from polls, neither do most Americans. Is he simply mistaken, or is he literally lying? I suspect he’s smart enough to know better, so I think it’s the latter.
“And so we should not be aligned with such people — they’re just, they’re just literally lying. Mr Pot says about Mr Kettle?
The takeaway from this is that Google had any ties to any conservative group in the first place.
new ice age, ozone hole, global warming, “climate change”, climate disruption... why don’t they call it what it is .. communism.
Eric Schmidt.....does he fly around in a private jet and live in a mansion, while promoting his hoax of “global warming?”
What a BS’er.
Here is a link to check it yourself.
If anyplace in the world would be an indicator of "Global Warming" it would be Hawaii, which has the most stable temperature on the planet.
Yes, that is exactly what they will say. The rat bastards. How about some good suggestions on using a different default search engine?
Nothing outside of taking up arms against those who are relentlessly imposing this ideology upon us will turn the tide.
Since that is never going to happen, bend over and prepare to take what is coming.
Now Google's policy is to follow the even simpler and ever-so-practical moral code of "Be evil."
Some time ago they changed their algorithm to penalize grassroots sites and advance (largely liberal) corporate sites.

The digital kristalnacht will happen soon enough.
Thanks, I will check it out.
I say they should shutdown the millions of servers they have. Imagine the power needed to run them!
