The Islamic State issued a new declaration of war Sunday, vowing that its fighters are ready to battle the U.S.-led military coalition seeking to destroy it.
The group’s spokesman made the statements in a new audio recording published in conjunction with a 11-page letter calling on Muslims worldwide to kill civilians of nations that join the fight against the Islamic State.
In the nearly 42-minute audio statement released online late Sunday, Islamic State group spokesman Abu Mohammed al-Adnani said the coalition will not be able to defeat the jihadis.
“Oh, believer, do not let this battle pass you by wherever you may be. You must strike the soldiers, patrons and troops of the tyrants. Strike their police, security and intelligence members,” al-Adnani said.
“If you can kill a disbelieving American or European, especially the spiteful and filthy French, or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that joined a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be,” he said.
In the letter, obtained by TheBlaze late Sunday, al-Adani went further, describing exactly how Islamic State supporters should terrorize their victims.
“If you are not able to find an IED or a bullet, then single out the disbelieving American, Frenchman, or any of their allies. Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him. Do not lack,” the letter reads. “Do not be contemptible. Let your slogan be, ‘May I not be saved if the cross worshipper and taghūt (ruler ruling by manmade laws) patron survives.’”
