Texas doesn’t yet have the “big welfare” mentality. But Texans seem to be largely welcoming to even illegal immigrants because, in Texas, there’s so much work to go around that there aren’t enough Americans (willing) to do it.

Agree, there is a very short window for a Texas secession movement to have an realistic chance. Demographics will make it impossible in the near future.
