I think it is ludicrous to say that the “Big Bang” (any scientific evidence aside) somehow obviates the need for God. That indeed could be the way He created the Universe. Also, be careful in claiming “it’s just a theory, there is no real proof” etc because that could be said about any of our Religious beliefs.
Righto.
The Big Bang Theory is simply a restatement of Genesis 1:1, leaving out the causation.
I am always amazed by how many atheists and believers continue to believe BBT is somehow in conflict with the Bible. Except for what are, IMO, the most strained six-day creation theories.
Exactly. Take a long hard look at what is, and you conclude its creation involved a very long time punctuated with some pretty spectacular events (unless you are bent on proving a pre-specified conclusion). Even the “6000 y/o universe” theory requires _some_ kind of process (and, at that, a process involving such great order from such great cataclysms that would differ little from building a city by detonating an atomic bomb).
If you fully buy into the idea that it all just sprang into fully-formed existence, then you cannot discount the theory that it all just sprang into fully-formed existence about 20 minutes ago.
The Lord God said “light be, and light was” (Gen 1:1)... the difference between any pseudo science and the creation by the word of the Lord is that one relies on an actor above and beyond the created thing, and the other relies on the illogical proposition that “nothing” created something with no external application of energy or will....
Kinda like saying the home you live in originated by itself, and that you believe it to be so....
