In my early days living in California, I was traveling in the Bay area and being low on gas, pulled off the I5 at Berkeley.

My experience of a university community was limited to UC Irvine, so I was alarmed when I realized what I had driven into.

Parked at a service station and before I got to the window to pre-pay, two thugs walked - one either side of my car - towards me.

I fled and luckily made it to a safer location to fill up.

Berkeley is a cesspool
