The danger of having them delivered to your house in something you ordered online is even worse.
Especially if you bought something from individual sellers on an auction site; and if what you bought is used, like clothing, electronics/computers, or even books, the danger is even worse.
The cost and damage to your possessions during the process of getting rid of them, is not worth it.
You're much better off spending more for new things and from a seller that has a real brick and mortar store's reputation to protect, because an online seller can more easily go bankrupt and then start another online store under a different name, if you try to sue them or give them a bad online review because they they gave you bedbugs or other vermin.
