Could we actually stop importing oil from the muslim countries? Probably not but we could cut back on the exporting of oil to them.

by my reckoning the USA will be completely oil independent in about 5 years. No need to import oil from anyone.

The wild card here is oil prices. If they fall significantly because of rising US oil production then US oil production increases will stop.

I’m counting on OPEC to cut back their oil production to keep prices high but you never know.

We don’t, or at least not much.

Europe, China, Japan, etc. are another story, and oil remains a fungible commodity.
