Others have posted great reasons as to why we are a sinking society. I can only add that we must see deeper. Western civilization, and we are a part, is sinking. Today's summum bonum [greatest good that we strive for], is the easy life. Money is its life blood. The root cause of our plight is the loss of religion with its emphasis on good and bad and substituting valueless 'freedom'.

Western civilization is ancient, dynastic, and powerful. It cannot be defeated by Neanderthals. It can only ever be surrendered to them.

Will ISIS Bring About the Demise of Western Civilization?
No. Not any more then one division of the Nazi army could have taken the world to the brink of destruction. But the Nazi Army did and Islam could also. Do not allow our spineless and weak leaders confuse you and trick you. ISIS is not the enemy it is one faction one division of the real enemy and that is Islam.
A better question might be: "is the end near."

While it’s easy to mock Obama saying ISIS is “not Islamic”, it’s just as wrong and misleading to talk about “radical Islam”, as though what ISIS is doing is somehow a new and revolutionary departure from some supposedly non-radical traditional Islam. ISIS are Muslim fundamentalists, not radicals. To suggest otherwise is just as dishonest and/or naïve as saying they are non-Islamic. I cringe every time I hear someone like Dick Cheney or John Bolton use the term “radical Islam”.
Peace and Love is irritated that America is not the all bad that they want it to be. They are going to spin ISIS as much as they can.
