You will be SHOCKED by what John Foust (D CAND, Virginia-10) said about his own voters!

Well, you won’t be shocked, probably. And I am sorry for that. It would be nice if there was still some innocence left in the world.

But let’s not get maudlin. Background: Barbara Comstock, Republican candidate for VA-10, is of the (accurate) opinion that her opponent John Foust is a male chauvinist pig:

This reads like one of those click-bait websites you see on social media;

Thankfully, this seat is a win for us!

Not so fast. Comstock is by no means a shoo-in in this race. It is going to be very, very close. I live in the 10th District. Obama ran strong in this district in 2012. Romney won by just 1% and Obama won it in 2008 (before it was redistricted.)

Comstock is a GOPe candidate who does not talk about issues like immigration. She is well-organized and well-funded. It remains to be seen if her vanilla strategy will win her the election. This is NoVA where Reps are becoming scarcer and scarcer. The Dems control everything. Foust has been a member of Fairfax County Board of Surpervisor for Dranesville, which includes a large part of the 10th District, since 2007.

The Dems have targeted this seat, now held by Frank Wolf, the last GOP Congressman standing in NoVA.

Republicans are normally the majority when the population density is below 1,000 people per square mile. Big gov lovers take control above that. Housing builders can turn any Republican area Democrat simply by building like this:

In 1990, 15% of the population of Fairfax County was foreign-born. Today, it is 30%. Couple that with the expansion of the federal government and the Beltway bandits it attracts, you have the formula for Dem domination. VA will soon be a solid blue state. North Carolina is not far behind.

Commie red is closer to the truth. Texas is also stupidly building in that direction. There isn't a shortage of land there. Self-driving cars will soon enable the middle class to live farther from the noisy, dirty city work hubs so maybe there will be a shift.

Fairfax County is starting to crack down on multiple families living in one housing unit. The upper middle class residents are concerned about the congestion, crime, and the quality of the schools.

Tough call because it’s the upper middle class there who desire the services of minimum wage workers, but there’s absolutely no affordable housing in Fairfax County for low wage earners.

Fairfax County has a welcoming policy towards illegal aliens. They are flooding the schools and ERs. There are 31,000 ESOL students out of a population of 181,000 students. One in four FCPS students receives free or subsidized meals in one of the richest counties in America. The current school budget is approaching $2.5 billion.

I have owned a house in Fairfax County since 1979. Real estate values have soared but so have the taxes. And the tax revenues are actually declining.

I thought this article was interesting.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/fairfax-county-seeks-ways-to-address-overcrowded-housing-issue/2014/07/27/775df60a-11bf-11e4-8936-26932bcfd6ed_story.html

The taxpaying residents of Fairfax County are probably not going to be very excited about the prospect of a bunch of studio apartments going up.

Single family housing in FC is ridiculously high (I have relatives who bought in 2012) and one of the reasons why is because the schools, for the most part, are exemplary. If the trend as you describe it continues, I imagine there will be quite an outcry. But it is far from reaching the tipping point, it seems.
