“...near U.S. and Canadian air space ..”

not “near” but “in.”

Vlad Putin knows he needn’t fear Canada because of her limited population nor the US because the two Presidents are of one mind.

Yes, but one of the noteworthy facts is how the bulk of the Russian nuclear warhead and launcher inventories are very near to the end of the useful service lives. This is reassuring to the extent it lessens the number of nuclear armaments which constitute the threat, but it is also alarming to the extent Putin may be motivated to use those nuclear armaments now and the next few years before he loses them and/or must replace them. This problem has also been exacerbated by the number of recent new replacement missile launcher system failures.

"...not :near" but "in."...

Incorrect.

They were in an ADIZ, not in US airspace.

Anybody can place an ADIZ...it doesn't mean much, usually just bluster, as in this case.

Our problem is that the entire world KNOWS that Obama would not use any of the remaining nuclear weapons in our arsenal.

I thought we had open borders? Seems to me that we should disband the military and have some “immigration reform”.

I wonder if liberal Americans would prefer speaking Russian to attending mosque 3 times a day.....

Until we shoot them down, I’m not interested. I know that Putin wants to worry us. Time we worried him with downed planes and dead pilots.

He really won't have much to do with it except to agree with any needed launch.

Yes, but the situation has a significant difference. When Stalin despaired of meeting his goals for the conquest of Europe and prepared to engage the West in a nuclear war, Beria, Kruschev, and fellow conspirators assassinated Stalin to avoid a cataclysmic nuclear weapons confrontation with the West.

Now we have Putin who is not getting any younger and wants to cement his reputation in Russian history before the already obsolete Russian nuclear weapons inventory is too far beyond its useful life to be of use by Putin for his neo-Soviet empire project. All but a small fraction of the current Russian nuclear weapons inventory is reaching the end of their life cycles and must be scrapped or replaced with new warheads and missile launchers. With Russia’s new strategic nuclear ballistic missile replacement failing its launching tests, Putin may be tempted to use his present nuclear weapons as leverage for his ambitions of conquest at the risk of engaging the West in a limited and/or nuclear war believing in his own historic destiny.
