Technology has eliminated the need for many previously learned skills.

How many of us can hand write a letter with correct spelling. How many of us can actually solve algebraic equations with pencil and paper. How many of us can recall defintions/facts from memory without having to Google? being less smart or able to do old skills does not necessarily equate to stupidity. Common sense is another matter though.

Definitely, not as educated.. I think most kids, even minorities with ASL got better schooling at the elementary level in our grandparent’s day than the kids get today in college, taking out the factor of progress in modern science and technology. Dumber, as in stupider, I don’t think so. If people are dumber today, it would probably be due to the chemicals in our lives.
