Neither. I am making fun of those who use the photos to spin a conspiracy theory. What is obviously evident is that an individual or group can use the photos to spin a conspiracy but a second individual/group can use the photos to spin and entirely different conspiracy.

The subject we are really talking about in the broadest sense in "intervening in Syria" and we can talk about it just like we talked about "intervening in Libya"

We can say that thru-out 2011 and 2012 the NeoCon Republicans and Liberal Interventionist Democrats wanted to intervene in Syria. But the Realists(composed of republicans and democrats) were opposed to intervening in Syria. The Antiwar democrats and Isolationists Republicans were also opposed. Obama was also opposed.

But then towards the end of 2012, some of the Realists began to gradually shift their position to supporting intervention. Some will say that the shift began at the 2012 GOP Convention in Tampa because several men from Syrian Emergency Task Force attended and spoke at the convention.

By the spring of 2013 the shift was complete. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted to arm the Syrian Rebels. On a vote of 15 to 3. The NeoCons, Liberal Interventionists, and the Realists voted to arm the rebels. The 3 no votes came from the 2 antiwar dems and the isolationist Rand Paul.

Obama worked up a plan, submitted it back to Congress and it was approved.

We don't know exactly when it began but by the spring of 2014 it is well underway because the media is reporting on it. CIA picks the group, who travel to Turkey for vetting, then to Qatar for training, then back to Syria with their weapons.

But there are complaints. The process is slow. The rebels are being given anti-tank weapons but they need anti-aircraft weapons. So certain members of Congress wanted to speed it up and give them anti-aircraft weapons. But then the airliner got shot down in Ukraine, so they all shut up.

Eventually it was put back on the front burner, and Congress has voted for the military to take over the duties from CIA, and speed it up. Nowhere in all the discussion has it been mentioed if they will or will not give them anti-aircraft weapons.

So the central question or issue revolves around the fact that there are terrorist groups within the Free Syrian Army and whether or not they will benefit from the other rebel groups being armed.

Apparently the foreign policy community, intelligence community, and a majority of congress think that this can be done.
