When I go walleye fishing in Wisconsin, I buy Pabst. That stuff attracts BIG fish. Don’t ask me to explain it because I can’t. PBR = BIG fish.
I will always remember Genesee Cream Ale because it was the first beer I ever drank. I also remember it was warm and in the green can. I think I stole from my parents garage.
Growing up outside of Buffalo, many people drank it because it was a cheap local beer brewed in Rochester.
In Buffalo we mostly drank Labatts because the US importer was there and it was also cheap. I also drank a lot of Ol Vienna.
We used to buy those in the 7 oz bottles, known as Old Vienna splits. A bar in the Allentown section of Buffalo on Monday night’s would sell you an opened case of Rolling Rock or OV splits with ice poured all over the case. The bars walls and floor were made out of brick. They would leave metal milk crates scattered around the bar to put your empty bottles in.
I do not think they do that anymore. This was in the 80s.
I could pound those down. Probably my favorite beer till this day. Haven't seen them around for a long time though.
I do not think they make OV any more. I had a buddy who took a road trip to Niagara Falls. I told him to pick me up a case if he could find them. He could not.
Did you ever go to MULLIGHANS Brick Bar? It was a very popular spot back in the day.

Point Special, by the Stevens Point Brewing Company used to be darned good...heavy, but darned good!
Red necks, white socks and Blue Ribbon beer.

Stella was never American and was not bought by InBev, it was part of Interbrew of Belgium long before the merger.
Yeech! I remember that! Regular Olympia wasn’t too bad until Miller bought them. Someone else bought the branding after that. You can’t find it anymore unless you look hard....but who wants to?
Rainier...mediocre beer at best, but they had an inspired advertising department back in the 70’s and early 80’s. They were also sold and the ads went away. So did whatever quality they had.

None of the outfits Inbev has bought so far are actual beer makers so you need not worry. :P
I never claimed it was American... the point was that Stella is beer and is under the InBev banner, one way or another.

Well, Heineken rebuffed SAB Miller’s advances, so I wonder if the attempt was an effort to thwart AB InBev.
