Survey: Most Americans Can’t Name All Three Branches of Government
Mediaite ^ | September 18th, 2014 | Tina Nguyen

Only 36% of Americans could name all three branches of the federal government, while 35% “could not name a single one”.

...

In addition, over half of Americans don’t know which parties control the House and Senate, and only 27% know that Congress can override a presidential veto with a two-thirds vote. In addition, 21% of Americans think that a 5-4 Supreme Court decision can be reconsidered by Congress, which is actually not true.

Interestingly, 54% of Americans would oppose a law that allowed the federal government to bar the media from reporting on national security issues without government approval.

Yet they all know how to vote for Democrats.

This is the end product of Liberal Education.

But they know all about slavery, the Seneca Falls Convention, the Trail of Tears and the Civil Rights movement, which will come in mighty handy when that government agent knocks on your door and doesn’t have a warrant.

I can!

Obama and Holder,
the democrat’s slave-labor ABCNNBCBS national press corpse,
and the democrat-socialist majority on the Supreme Court.

First thing we need to do with our majority, and Presidency. Is make new voting laws. I honestly don’t believe everyone should have a voice. People are too stupid to be trusted to vote. There should be a test on American government.

If you like your unconstitutional law, you can keep your unconstitutional law...

When we have a president who can do anything he wants according those who voted for him, what good are the other two branches anyway?

Jay Leno used to do a bit, where he would walk up to people and ask the most basic of questions about government.

Some people’s ignorance was stunning.

I need to read Idiocracy.

What do you expect from the RATS. They sure know how to collect food stamps and welfare checks—that’s easy. An educated thought? No way, they are indoctrinated to conform.

And even if Americans could name all three branches of the federal government, they probably couldn’t explain the differences between legislative, executive and judicial powers.

Senator Chuck Schumer in January 2011 on State of the Union with Candy "are you going to finish that piece of cake" Crowley.

“They are getting wary because of the large debt we have, which we have to get down, but if they feel that people are willing to shut down the government, you could risk the credit markets really losing some confidence in the United States Treasury, and that could create a deeper recession than we had over the last several years — God forbid, even a depression. So I would urge my Republican colleagues, no matter how strongly they feel — you know, we have three branches of government. We have a House. We have a Senate. We have a president. And all three of us are going to have to come together and give some, but it is playing with fire to risk the shutting down of the government, just as it is playing with fire to risk not paying the debt ceiling.”

Seems recently we have only two functioning branches....

The imperial executive branch that is only beholden it itself ....

The other branch SCOTUS seems pretty unconcerned with the other branch....

That third dead branch is tied up on Harry Reid desk growing moss...
