UPDATE: Chief of Staff for Congressman Vance McAllister Arrested for DWI
KTVE-TV10 - Monroe, LA ^ | September 18, 2014 | Staff

Posted on 09/18/2014 2:05:26 PM PDT by abb

UPDATE:

Statement from Congressman McAllister in regards to Adam Terry’s DWI arrest:

“I’m disappointed in Adam. I do not condone his behavior, but I know he’s a good person and he’s worked hard for the people of Louisiana. Right now, he is at home with his family in the district and we want to make sure he gets the help he needs.”

UPDATE: According to the arrest affidavit, Trooper Nicholas Gee said he smelled a 'very strong' odor commonly associated with an alcoholic beverage emitting from Terry.

According to the affidavit, Terry told Trooper Gee he had not been drinking, but is reported to have performed poorly on the Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Trooper Gee reports in the affidavit that a styrofoam cup was found in the back seat with some type of alcoholic beverage in it. Also found was an empty pint of Jack Daniel's and a full one.

Once at the Richland Parish Detention Center, Terry refused to submit to a breath test.

Last year, when McAllister was the darling of the Duck Dynasty crew, and many, many FReepers fell for the scam, I told them McAllister was a flake. No one here in North Louisiana had ever heard of him, and he had no grass roots conservative bona fides.

Oh, well, he won’t be re-elected.

Well, I did too. Neil Riser was the better man, McAllister was just a puppet for the RINO Establishment and Democrats.

Nah, McAllister was a flake from the get-go. Told everybody I could that was the case, but they were all infatuated with the Duck Dynasty cultism.

Terry has been in DC too long. First as chief of staff for former congressman Rodney Alexander, and then for McAllister. IIRC, he’s been in DC about 12 years or so. He’s originally from the Ferriday, LA area. He was a reporter for the Ruston, LA Daily Leader for a time, before he went to DC.

I live in Ruston, LA. Been in North Central LA for 64 years, and know most of the conservative grass-roots types here. McAllister ain’t never been one of us.

Ever.

I meet with a non political group every month. Most ,of the attendees are democrats. Always talking up Landrieu.. Lately, they have been talking about how Mcallister is coming to meet with them. From the start I always thought that McAllister was a democrat A number of them will vote for him. If he were to win again I look for him to switch parties. The dems here never forgave Rodney for switching to Republican. He did that after 9/11. I do not trust Mcallister to remain a republican if he wins. I attend republican meetings and a tea party meeting on occasions. McAllister has never asked to attend any of them. I am told that these dems always know when he is in the area and they meet with him

We need to keep our own house clean, and sober. A hard task but if you want to be credible to the voters, you have to be an honorable person and performer.

Is there another Republican running for the same seat? If so, do they have any chance of winning in the primary?

Thanks in advance.

Must be a Democrat, because they don’t mention the party.

I grew up in Ruston. In fact, just got back today from being there for a week visiting my mother. One of my oldest friends there has turned out to be a big Landrieu supporter. I couldn’t believe it.

DJ, have you heard about the summer 2014 lie told by Riser? It is not encouraging.

Alexander switched parties some three years after 9-11; he remained loyal to Mary Landrieu after the switch. I believe the runoff in 2014 will be between McAllister and Jamie Mayo, the only Democrat running. What is your hunch?

McAllister can’t very well dismiss Terry over this considering his own moral failing.

There are some eight other Republicans running, including a man named “Dasher”, who is a nephew of Phil Robertson, and former Rep. Clyde Holloway, once again. Harris Brown, a Monroe attorney, is running, and Mary Matalin is active in his campaign.
