Thousands of children in swaths of war-torn Syria, now controlled by dreaded Islamic State militants, can no longer study math or social studies under new diktats issued by the jihadists.

While sports is banned, the children will not be allowed to learn about elections and democracy.

Instead, the children will be subjected to the teachings of the radical Islamist group. And any teacher who dares to break the rules "will be punished."

...

The Sunni militant group has captured a slew of Syrian and Iraqi cities in recent months as it tries to establish a caliphate, or Islamic state, spanning Sunni parts of both countries.

“At that rate they’ll become dumber than our kids.”

Unfortunately they have a lot of ground to cover before they reach that.

Eh, I can see dropping the social studies, but the little heads full of mush really need to learn some 2 + 2 or those people are going to be walking into walls in a few years.

On second thought - keep it up, Jihadi edumacators!

Yes, but they are skilled in handling an AK-47 and wielding a sword so that definitely levels the playing field.

Have you ever wondered why those freaks are still in the stone age? Pretty well defines the answer. No need to advance into the modern world when the old ways are just fine. Dumb asses.

Then again, we do have some “education issues” right here in the US, take “Common Core math” for example. More dumb asses on the horizon.

Blacks and women in the US view mathematics as the province of “old White men”—In fact, there was a posting on FR to that effect a couple of days ago.

Coincidence?

Math is hard!

The blessedness of Allah spares the children from math in order to make their lives a living paradise.
