Barry Soetoro (B.S.) Obama qualifies as “Oreo-ental”

RE the term, I’ve heard more controversy whether it’s ‘orient’ vs. ‘orientate’ ....

I had a Taiwanese chick tell me she thought “oriental” was offensive...but she was also a left-winger that joined that bandwagon without knowing why.

‘Oriental’ simply means something of the East.

If Orient is now offensive, shouldn’t Occident also be? Should Occidental College change its name?

Oriental - Occidental
East. - West
Rising Sun. - Setting Sun

Libs live to be offended. My Chinese wife is from Oklahoma, so for me here in Maryland she is an Occidental Oriental. She’s also practically perfect in every way.

I’m going to defend Biden on this one. People who are offended by the term “Oriental” offend ME. They can go to hell.

I'm glad that I am not on whatever strange Email list there is that exists to dispatch notice regarding new offensive terms. The distinction between orient and occident is an old one, still used quite extensively, and both covering a wide array of cultural examples.

I simply refuse to cease using the term where appropriate, out loud, and will simply begin disregarding those who claim to have been offended.

We, each one of us, must stick to the ground somewhere, and it's a large planet when compared to our modest claim upon a patch of ground. That being the case, if we were to give in on every claim of a new and fashionable offense we should perpetually be forced either to balance on one foot or jump up in a ridiculous attempt to float in defiance of gravity.

I, for one, simply refuse - even for an instant - to allow the arbitrary feelings of any other human being to determine how I regard myself.

A politically incorrect Carnac-type joke that I came up with a long time ago:

Answer: There's a nip in the air.

Question: What did the lookouts say at Pearl Harbor?

“D’oh!~”

In Biden’s defense, he has always been disoriented.

I make it a point to still use BC and AD instead of the politically correct BCE and CE. I love to ask, "What is the 'common era'?"

Joe Biden is not only an idiot, he’s also not well read. If he had read Agatha Christie, he’d know that the Orient extends from Paris to Istanbul.

She isn’t Asian since she isn’t from the continent. Try “squinty eyed gook” on her next time.

“Orient” - opposite of “Occident”.

Let's face it.

Every single word a cracker peckerwood white devil utters is offensive.

John Prine put this hard-edged tune out there in 1979 and no one blinked.

How about Rod Stewart’s “Every Picture Tells a Story”?

I moved right out east yeah!
On the Peking ferry I was feeling merry
sailing on my way back here
I fell in love with a slit eyed lady
by the light of an eastern moon
Shangai Lil never used the pill
She claimed that it just ain’t natural
She took me up on deck and bit my neck
Oh people I was glad I found her
Oh yeah I was glad I found her

I firmly believe that I didn’t need anyone but me
I sincerely thought I was so complete
Look how wrong you can be

The women I’ve known I wouldn’t let tie my shoe
They wouldn’t give you the time of day
But the slit eyed lady knocked me off my feet
God I was glad I found her
And if they had the words I could tell to you
to help you on the way down the road
I couldn’t quote you no Dickens, Shelley or Keats
‘cause it’s all been said before
Make the best out of the bad just laugh it off
You didn’t have to come here anyway
So remember, every picture tells a story don’t it
