We have been infiltrated for years by commies, queers, mexicans, and new world order types. McCarthy had it right, he just did not know the extent of the virus.

If it’s the end-times war, then it starts at Jerusalem. Also ends there. If the “Palestinians” capture East Jerusalem and wrest it from Jewish control, then things go downhill from there sharply.

I think the conflict with radical Islam will prove to be more comparable to the Cold War. It will be long and drawn out with sporadic periods of conflict and calm interspersed throughout the duration. As with the Cold War, our adversaries will only be swayed by force, resolve, and purpose and will take advantage of any weakness and vacilation.

When did WWII start? Many people would say 1939 but its more complicated than that. Other — earlier — dates could be cited.

Yes, this is WWIII. This is a religious war being fought with hate in place of tanks or planes. The problem with a religious war is that we have disarmed ourselves and can no longer engage the enemy on this front. Thus, it is impossible to see how this will turn out - but it doesn’t look good. We are totally unprepared.

World War III was the Cold War, a vicious struggle in which countless served and many died.

Sad it’s already been forgotten.

We’re now involved in World War IV, a war of religions and races which the United States is losing - and badly.

Likewise, most people would probably say that the Cold War started in earnest around the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

Absolutely false.

A good date would be 5 March 1946, when Sir Winston gave a speech in Fulton, Missouri. "From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the Continent."

Then, of course, there was George Kennan's "long telegram" from the Moscow embassy to the State Department. That was on 22 February 1946.

Certainly, the Cold War was apparent to all with the advent of the Berlin Blockade in June 1948.

And all through the fifties, there was the nuclear arms race, Conelrad and "duck and cover", Khrushchev pounding his shoe.

The Cold war was old news by 1962!

So what nation state serves to gain from the idealogical/religious warfare of the anti-fraccer/anti-pipeline/anti-coal/anti-railtransport of oil bunch? And what ideology drives their nation state?

The two are not exclusive. Nation states are driven by ideaolgies--it is that which separates them from other nation-states. That asymmetrical warfare would include all aspects is no surprise, be they economic or ideological in appearance.

We’ll know it, when we see the bright flashes. Until then, it’s mostly hyperbolic speech filled with funny metaphors.

Did anyone who was alive in 1945 believe that the Cold War had already started?

George Patton so believed and wanted to warm it up. Stalin and his vast network of agents/spies knew it was on, but wanted to keep us thinking it was cold to better their head start.

Should ISIS make good on their threat to kill the Pope, the result will make Shock and Awe look like a wet firecracker.

Sorry, but World War II (1914-1918) and World War III (1938-1945) are over. We are still engaged in World War I (714-present).

9/11/01. Tactically, it was not a large blow - but its relevance as a WWIII start date is that the world (or those parts of it choosing to pay attention) realized that the actions taken that day had tens of millions of sympathizers.

The pope's observation begs the question...

Another writer who doesn't know what "begs the question" means.

Aaron Klein and Michael Voris also don't know what it means.

Likewise, most people would probably say that the Cold War started in earnest around the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

It began in 1945. And lasted 4 decades.

And it almost went MAD several times, Cuban Missile Crisis was just one such instance (and there was one in the early 80s as well).

There were proxy skirmishes around the globe. And infiltration, espionage, and sedition.

It is WWIII, of course. but it is better described as a series of interacting civil wars, wars within nation-states that are economic in motivation but suicidal in effect and manipulated by the global elite.

I like the article’s phrase “…types of contemporary warfare — religio-ideological and nation-state economic”. This is a an adequate description of the old reality that is still with us.

Now maybe we can peer into the mist ahead and see the real WWIII.

It is the war of the “non-national elite” against the rest of us. In our American case the war of rich and powerful Americans against the rest of us, the most of us, the working class.

The international corporations (pseudo-persons) have no allegiance to any nation or any individual because they are are amoral and devoted to their own survival against every other consideration.

They are self-serving and are only real in cyberspace, the new reality that has already over-powered the old reality. If cyber-space were to collapse, they would be crippled.

The enemy is diaphanous. The only component of the enemy we can punch in the nose is anyone who owns stock and insists upon profit over tribalism..

WWIII = “non-national elite” versus us.
