After all, boys to a great degree are still raised with the prohibition “You don’t hit girls”; there is no corresponding prohibition for females, however, and they’re no longer raised with the companion teaching, “Ladies don’t hit at all.”

It's bad enough that men won't defend themselves or each other from this double standard, but they won't even defend their own sons. Why don't fathers just come out and admit that they don't care if their sons testicles are crushed just so some violent girl can amuse herself at their expense? They obviously don't care, or they would be doing something about it.

Yes, that is going on a lot nowadays, isn’t it? If I had a son, I can assure you that I’d teach him how to defend against it while he was young (little kids are easy prey for anything). I’d also tell him that he should be a gentleman — UNLESS a girl tries that. In that case he should make sure she never dares try it again.

But, yes, it’s disgusting how we don’t protect our young brothers.
