And what the heck is wrong with Cargo Drops of beds and portable buildings? Are there no adults left in Liberia to see that they are set up and distributed?

This study was done in glass cultures not in live mammals. I don't know if it has ever been tested on living mammals. The study's conclusion was that colloidal silver neutralizes the Ebola virus.

Sorry, this has virtually no application to prevention or treatment of Ebola. Lots of substances will render viruses inert in vitro -- things like bleach, acetone, high alkaline solutions, etc. None of these have application within the human body. Oral solutions of colloidal silver can be taken but are ineffective, in contrast to topical application for skin infections, etc.

No but it will give you heavy metal posioning........Thanks for the input. Though my friends swear by silver, I have not partaken - heavy metal poisoning is pretty ugly.

That passage reminds me of this precious video: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152512240296005

This is little Ruby Brantley singing and trying to get everyone on the bus to join her. It was taken before her father, Kent, seated beside her, fell ill.

“I am your God, who holds your right hand, . . .do not be afraid, for I will help you . . .

“In God I trust, I will not be afraid, for he will take care of you.”

And He did.

How these words must have echoed as he walked through the Valley.

I appreciate your posts, but strongly advise you to do your own research. In other words go the alternative sites see what they are saying and compare and contrast.

What you will slowly realize over time is that for the most part the medical establishment is a racket. This did not come easy because my Grandfather was one of the top Doctors in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I grew up going to doctors and believing everything the medical establishment told me. This went on for 37 years.

Nevertheless, starting in 2006 I had a slow metamorphosis that changed my point of view. Much of it was first hand experience too. I'll me tell you this. Once you start digging into this subject you will quickly realize how much you are being lied to and misled. For instance, I’ talking looking at the actual research that the medical establishment parades around as the end all be all. That, small part alone, will have you quickly realize you are not being told the correct summary of a study.

My best analogy for you being a fellow Freeper would be this. You are still like the people, who believe in their hearts, everything the liberal media establishment, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, CNN, tells them as truth.... You know things like Global Warming, Tea Party is Racist, guns are for nuts, etc... hook, line and sinker.

I've been where you are at and understand that view point VERY WELL. However, I always look at the other side. I am interested in truth no matter where it leads me.

Let me put it to you this way. I have not been sick since 2006. I have not even had the common cold. Furthermore, I have watched people that choose the alternative method 12 years ago. For instance, in some cases where the medical establishment told them they were about to die, and had no chance to continue you living. You better believe I take this stuff seriously.

The way you view alternative medicine as quackery IS the way I view the current medical establishment for the most part. Now if I broke a bone or needed some stitches, then I would go to a hospital nonetheless. However, just about anything biological or chemical they say I don't trust.

One alternative medical web site I like is Natural News. It’s just one of thousands, but their research seems to be pretty good.

I appreciate your posts, but strongly advise you to do your own research. In other words go the alternative sites see what they are saying and compare and contrast.

As it is a topic (science and medicine) that interests me, I’ve done a lot of research and I’ve been to plenty of those alternative sites. I can keep an open mind and yes nano silver partials do have antimicrobial properties, seem to have some effectiveness when impregnated into materials like clothing or dressings for burn victims, some medical devices, etc. and as a topical treatment for burns (although recent studies have shown it is not as effective as other treatments such as with antibiotics), and while it does seem to kill bacteria and viruses in vitro (i.e. under controlled conditions in a Petri dish), that is far different from how it works (or doesn’t work) in the human body. Common household bleach, Lysol, Pine Sol and white vinegar will also kill many bacteria and viruses in vitro, but it is not recommended to drink it. (And yes, I know some people swear by drinking large amounts of undiluted vinegar but that’s another topic entirely).

No studies (actual medical/scientific studies) have shown any thing to support some of the wild claims that many if not most of those alternative sites make, those sites that BTW are trying to sell you their colloidal silver elixirs or home silver generators. Claims like colloidal silver can cure arthritis, diabetes, AIDs, MERSA, the common cold, Lyme disease, cancer, parasites, chronic fatigue, acne, warts, hemorrhoids, enlarged prostate…… wow is there anything it can’t do? Hint – if someone is peddling a substance that claims to cure and or prevent such a wide range of illnesses caused by such a wide range of mechanisms, it is quack medicine.

Depending on your age, not having has a common cold since 2006 may not be all that unusual for many people. Common colds, rhinoviruses and other viruses like many enteroviruses, typically infect children much more so than adults. In fact most children will come down with anywhere from 4-8 cold bugs per year during their school age years. But as we get older, having already been exposed and recovered from these viruses, we build up immunity to most of them, and even with slight mutations of these strains over time, even when we do catch one, our acquired immunity usually means we don’t get very sick or might not even show any symptoms. Influenza strains are a bit different in terms of how much they mutate from year to year, hence the reason for annual flu shots.

As to those you know who were told by the “medical establishment” that they were about to die, understand that, 1) doctors are human and they do make mistakes, as are laboratory tests not always 100% correct, 2) doctors sometimes make a bad diagnosis, 3) some patients totally misinterpret what their doctors tell them about their diagnosis – i.e. they ask their doctor if they are likely to die from x disease or x condition, the doctor if he is honest, might say, “it is unlikely with treatment but sure that’s always a possibility” but all they hear is “the doctor told me I’m going to die”, 4) some people, and I’ve known some people like this, will tell you they are dying all the time or greatly exaggerate how sick they were, and finally, 5) of those who were told by the “medical establishment” that they were about to die and instead took some alternative dietary supplement and or colloidal silver, did they eschew all conventional medical treatment and medicate as well or did they just “complement” conventional treatment with “alternative treatments”? If so, how can you differentiate what course of treatment actually helped them? Anecdotal second hand story telling is a poor substitute for actual scientific studies.

Nice try and nice attempt at smearing my conservative credentials and my ability to see through the political and liberal media BS and yes, even some supposed scientific BS like those who push man made global warming as a reason for pushing Socialism, but you are comparing apples to oranges and throwing the baby out with the bathwater; more precisely you are throwing out all the babies out along with all the bath water.

For instance, in recent years, some administrative heads in the NASA administration have been advocating all sorts of PC diversity like Muslim outreach and have made proving that AWG global warming is real and what to do about it part of their mission (talk about mission “creep”) but that doesn’t mean we didn’t land on the Moon in 1969 nor does it negate all of what NASA does as scientific BS.

I recall getting into a heated debate with another Freeper (FWIW, I don’t recall his name) back during when Super Storm Sandy was making its way up the East Coast. He tried to say it was not a storm or much of a storm at all to and nothing to be all concerned about, that what little of a storm it was, would harmless go out to sea and it would never hit land, that it was being “blown” way out of proportion as some sort of vast government conspiracy related to pushing global warming and “Agenda 21” and that NOAA and NASA along with every media outlet reporting on it, was part of this vast conspiracy, that the NOAA buoys indicating wave heights were being falsified that the NASA satellite images of the storm were also being “faked”.

I am sure my relatives and friends living along the NJ shore and in the greater NYC area, some who lost their homes and business or couldn’t get to work for weeks sure appreciated that “Freeper’s” analysis.

The way you view alternative medicine as quackery IS the way I view the current medical establishment for the most part. Now if I broke a bone or needed some stitches, then I would go to a hospital nonetheless. However, just about anything biological or chemical they say I don't trust.

I am not against all alternative medicine. I just want some sort of empirical proof that any particular alternative treatment is both relatively safe and most importantly effective and not something being peddled as a “cure all” for “everything” such as the peddlers of colloidal silver remedies. With that being said, I do understand that some modern pharmaceuticals can cause very serious side effects in some people, but I also understand that more people have been helped by modern medicine than harmed by it. YMMV and good luck to you on that.

No, you entirely misread me and my experience. I have been reading alternative health literature for at least 40 years — in fact, was aiming for an N.D. degree before changing to a research-oriented grad program. I have a bottle of colloidal silver solution not two feet from me right now — kept on hand for superficial skin infections, not internal use (worthless for that). One of my favorite natural remedies is raw apple cider vinegar for GERD — works like a charm. But I generally stick with allopathic treatments for various maladies and am happy with them.
