Lowest-Cost Insurer Drops From Minnesota Exchange
CBS Minnesota ^ | 9/16/2014

The insurance company that grabbed the most customers on Minnesota’s health care exchange by offering the lowest rates told state officials Tuesday that it’s pulling out of MNsure, a major blow to the exchange as the next open enrollment period approaches.

The decision by Golden Valley-based PreferredOne may mean higher rates and again puts the troubled exchange front-and-center in Minnesota’s governor and House elections.

PreferredOne had 59 percent of the private-plan market for MNsure enrollees as of early August. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota had 23 percent, HealthPartners 12, Medica 5 percent and UCare 1.

"Company spokesman Steve Peterson told KSTP-TV, which first reported the decision, that staying on MNsure wasn’t financially or administratively sustainable. The membership they gained through MNsure was small, but was taking “a significant amount of our resources” to administer, Peterson said."

This story will be replayed in the coming year. AS companies realize they can't compete in the lowest level of premiums because of the free riders they will drop out. Then, the disillusioned who bought into this scam will find themselves paying higher premiums to subsidize the free riders.

It's not the free riders, that's nothing. It's the "guaranteed issue".

I’m getting really pissed off with Marxist Minnesota. Sen. Al Frankfurter, who was given the election by the Marxist Secy of State Mark Ritchie.

Somali moslems telling people what they can or cannot sell, that they won’t take seeing eye dogs in their cabs, want separate washrooms for their feet at airports, and now separate Halal food shelves in stores, among other Sharia-like demands.

It is time for the people of Minnesota to clean house in November and get the jihadists in jail, along with the Democrats. That would be real justice and Minnesota might actually break free of the Marxist hold that has been imposed on that state since the 1930’s.

It’s not like the ones who will be paying higher premiums weren’t WARNED that this was going to happen, years ago.

But the TV told them to mock and laugh at anyone that dared to speak of such things. They are getting what they deserve, sadly.

In a few more years of the same, Minnesota citizens will feel first hand how the “comrade citizens” lived in the Iron Curtain countries deeded to the USSR by FDR.

I’ve always wondered why the state brags about how many people are on MNSure, when 5 out of 6 are just mooching off the taxpayer and only 1 of 6 actually pays for it.

That’s like bragging about how many people you have on food stamps or welfare. Liberals are unbelievable in the fantasy world they live in and claiming the “government” pays for it. That’s our money.
