The threat posed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has created an opportunity for three White House hopefuls in the Senate to grab the spotlight from Republican governors. ...
Rubio, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Intelligence panels has used the debate to distinguish himself as the inheritor of the muscular foreign policy worldview held by former President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)
While he says it would be good for president Obama to seek congressional support for military action against ISIS, he argues the president doesn't need it. Rubio supports arming more moderate factions in Syria... The Florida Senator warns that it may be necessary to put American boots on the ground, though he would prefer to avoid that kind of escalation. ...
Paul remains opposed to arming Syrian rebels, which he calls a "mistake."... He insists that Congress should vote on a resolution authorizing military force, and warns Obama would disrespect the Constitution by not doing so. ...
Cruz stands between Rubio and Paul, leaning more towards the latter's views...But while he has employed more forceful rhetoric than Paul, the Texas Senator says Obama must receive permission from Congress, and opposes arming Syrian rebels. ...
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker...has spoken generally about the threat posed by ISIS, but claims that Americans are as concerned about economic pressures at home.

What say you?
I lean more with Cruz and Paul. Rubio can forget it.
If The Hill reported on all the splits, rifts, and contradictions within the Democrat party, they’d have room for nothing else.
But they avert their eyes from those matters.
I don’t trust The Hill.
I’ll go with Cruz.
There is an rticle there on the front page, right at the top, bigger than all the rest, titled “Democrats splinter on Syria vote.”
Ditto.
Cruz is da man.
Paul is basking in Cruze’s glow
Who is the third guy? I forget.
They first have to identify if it is the peaceful, the shy, the introverted, the bashful, the moderate or militant muzzies that they plan to fight?
Its so difficult to keep them apart these days when our congress critters do not want to officially identify them for fear that we may offeeeeeeend them.
And this country wants to fight ISIS with such a timid attitude? (By the way, were not fighting ISIS only but we have to keep our eyes peeled to all of Islam)
Glad to be wrong.
Attacking the messenger gets us nowhere...
They have the article “ISIS strategy splits Rubio, Paul, Cruz” -— and at the very top of the front page they also have an article titled “Democrats splinter on Syria vote.”
Both parties have been getting hammered on this issue in other recent articles there...
If The Hill reported on all the splits, rifts, and contradictions within the Democrat party, theyd have room for nothing else.
The only time demos split is close to elections. They try to make it appear they’re not extremist liberal scum but go right back to being extremist liberal scum after the elections.
A lot of the demos are currently running to the right but will be 100% back in barack husssein obama’s corner after the elections.
In that case, as I had not yet seen your reply, ignore post #11.
You seem then to be coming at this from a different angle than most...
If Assad is knocked out of power, ISIS has a corridor to the Med. Say goodbye to Lebanon.
Obama is on the wrong side of everything. At least he's consistent.
There are no “moderate” factions in Syria. There are only well-armed rabid Islamic jihadists, or less-well-armed but still rabid Islamic jihadists, or an entrenched Islamic Jihadist dictator with diverse international support. Death is the only common denominator, and any pretense that either of the two challengers to al-Assad would, in any way, be an improvement, is a total delusion.
Right, arm the mythical moderates, who are allied with ISIS and fighting the only force effectively fighting ISIS (Assad).
The Florida Senator warns that it may be necessary to put American boots on the ground, though he would prefer to avoid that kind of escalation. ...
Yeah, like if Assad is pushed out of power. Rubio is once again trying to please both sides without actually thinking about consequenses.
I have already written a screed on Libertarianism on FR. They are fine for Secretary of Treasury, but about everything else they may as well be Obama. They are conservatives with no God. They take pride in their pious purity in the Constitution to the point they will take a direct attack and think they can send a diplomat to fix it. Try explaining an insane ISIS fighter sawing heads off and they want a treaty to get them to stop. They are oblivious to their books telling them they must do it to get to Heaven.
I'm sure they will take the mark of the beast thinking they can always fix it later. Paul; won't get anymore than Ron did, but it will take away from whoever conservatives want.
Rubio "coulda been a contender", but fell to the "Hispanic hyphen American" group and screwed the pooch. I'm looking for the Hispanics that understand they are Americans and whatever helps America helps them. Cruz fits that bill and he's smart, real smart. I like Newt for 20 years but everyone keeps worrying about his zipper or something instead of voting for the best candidate. He passed the Contract for America, did what he said he would do, and balanced the budget, but people said he did something wrong in his marriage. All was proven false, but after he lost. So all the same problems we want to solve 20 years ago are still there. Conservatives actually did the same thing to Reagan until he did it, solved the problems and then left office. They couldn't keep griping how he was just a Hollywood actor that was dumb, so they just moved on. Getting the economy fixed and tearing down the Berlin wall was pretty significant, but the establishment still wants the Dole's and McCain's of the party for whatever reason. Palin could solve all these problems we face today, but what are the odds? They still smell every fart to try to coat her will scum just like the party fight this week was supposed to prove some flaw her family has. Sticking cigars in interns vagina's is OK of course and don't forget being elected in the New Party in Chicago is fine if you are Hopey and changey along with eating dogs on Muslim holiday's. I'll back Cruz till the bitter end. You know all the forces of Satan are arrayed against him, including the establishment, but that's a medal of honor to me. I want unwavering conservative principles no matter what the talking heads think. I can almost hear it now, from 8am till 10 pm on even FoxNews, with Btrit and Oreilly giggling that Cruz even dares to try to get the nomination. That doesn't even cover the conniptions we will witness on MSNBC and CNN. Till Cruz says or does something to buckle to pressure, I'm In!! The Booing he received just this week shows his character. He knows Israel is blessed by God and we need to be with God. If you aren't with Israel you are NOT a Christian. They haven't figured out Jesus is Jewish and we are adopted in to God's family. If you don't know this soon after you are baptized, you just haven't read the book. The whole purpose of Revelation is to show Jesus coming back to save Israel. The whole world will line up against Israel and it's important which side you pick. Cruz "done good." Christy is finished before he starts and the media wants him so bad they can taste it. A few of the governors are fine but they aren't Cruz. Perry wouldn't be terrible, but he's my governor and I could find 10 things in about a minute to mark against him. The NAFTA highway is right up there near the beginning. Why compromise when we have Cruz?
I agree with Cruz. Paul and Rubio are not to be trusted. Arming the Kurds seems to be the only option.
As stated above I will go with Cruz.
Why are you surprised?
Has anyone among our MSM and congress critters asked the question on whose side zero is?
