Make no mistake, the GOPe would rather give a seat to a democRat than have a conservative replubican win.

Dems coming up with such a bogus poll clearly trying to fake out GOP to redeploy resources to Kansas and away from trying to unseat vulnerable Dems.

The idea that Orman is an independent is simply ridiculous. He contributed generously to BHO’s presidential campaign.

I think Mississippi would be a good place for Cochran and Palin to start a third party. Now!

It appears that that Big Sweep we have been reading about has not appeared
so far.

The GOPe’s would be just fine with a rat senator.
They would rather have a RAT senator that they can work their deals
with than a conservative who will not be inclined to roll over for pork.

The GOPe’s will win either way in Kansas.

It is Americans that will screwed again.

What exactly is the GOP running on besides Democrats bad, Harry Reid
evil?

Apparently they're taking it out on Gov. Brownback too.. he's behind by a chunk of pts. as well. I'm thinking this purported "GOP wave" is more a show of anger at incumbents in general.

With Brownback it's deficits and education cuts. His plan on cutting taxes, while it may pay off in the long run, is causing short term pains because revenues aren't meeting expectations and the budget is out of balance. Since education is the biggest single line item in the budget it tends to take the hit. That's not popular with the Soccer Moms.

It would be too late for this election. But something definitely should be done to quarantine the effect of the lawless thugs in the R party there. If it takes a 3rd party, then that’s what should be done.

In Oregon, we have several Democrats running as independents. Wolves in sheeps clothing.

Is it that they're enamored with liberals or just completely disenchanted with Roberts?

My impression is that it is a combination of disenchantment with Roberts and a lack of knowledge about Orman.

While it is true that Roberts has become a Washington insider, he is a Washington insider with a conservative voting record. Not perfect, but darn good. His defeat would certainly please the NARAL, ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and the other progressive groups who have consistently found Roberts to be an opponent.

I don't get the idea that defeating Roberts would be a great way to punish the GOPe. A Roberts defeat would allow the moderates in the Republican Party to argue that Orman won because he attracted the middle of the political spectrum against the conservative Roberts. A Roberts' defeat would allow the GOPe types to point to Kansas as a perfect example of why you have to run a moderate squish in order to win.

While it is true that Roberts has become a Washington insider, he is a Washington insider with a conservative voting record.

Orman is painting himself as an independent and running "a plague on both your houses" campaign. And it could be resonating. People are fed up with career politicians treating re-election as a divine right. They're disgusted with both parties. Robert's past voting record reinforces just how long he's been in Washington. Orman's strategy may well pay off.

Kansans had a golden opportunity with Dr. Wolf. I had the pleasure to meet him on a couple occasions. Like many others, I will hold my nose (aka McCain) and pull the lever for Roberts. With RAT infested pockets mainly in the KC, Topeka and Wichita areas, the GOP may in most likelihood kiss the seat goodbye. I was especially p*ssed off when Roberts wouldn’t debate Dr. Wolf. I need a drink.

Wars are won in increments. Roberts would have been better than his opponent. A moderate to center GOP controlled Senate would be at least marginally better than one run by Harry Reid. Leftists understand the need to take wins slowly. Conservatives far too often don’t, thinking-bizarrely-that loss after loss is somehow going to translate into a win someday.

WHAT?? An old RINO fart who is 1.5 years away from being an octogenarian who hasn’t lived in Kansas since his kids were in Elementary School and is so out of touch he can’t find his old, wrinkled butt with both hands is down in the polls??? I can’t believe it.

Roberts is a good Conservative Senator from the State of Virginia.
