So instead of outside terrorist forces ripping it apart, he'd "ally" himself with outside imperialist forces that would suck it up like a strand of spaghetti. A coalition to protect the hen house. Foxes welcome.
Is Kerry unconsciously parodying himself?

Sounds pretty consistent coming from an administration that has already allied itself repeatedly with the muslim brotherhood.

Kerry - you are truly dumber than a box of obamas. Why don’t you help Iran with their design of “advanced weaponry” while you’re at it.

This seems to be coming down to Sunnis vs. Shia (and their allies like Assad). As Harry Truman said about the Nazis and Soviets, if we see on side is winning, we should help the other so they kill as many of each other as possible. The only people worth helping in the area are the Kurds, who have no friends on either side.

"lets see what Iran might or might not be willing to do before we start making any pronouncements." Maybe Kerry can sell out Israel. Assad will be our boots on the ground.

An interesting look at the evolution of some of Kerry's views on America's military and its CIA might be of passing interest now, given some of his recent statements.
When he first ran for Congress in 1970, the Harvard Crimsom ran a lengthy article by Samuel Z. Goldfarber about him and his candidacy.
The following is a brief excerpt from Goldfarber's piece:
He supports a volunteer Army, "if and only if we can create the controls for it. You're going to have to prepare for the possibility of a national emergency, however." Kerry said that the United Nations should have control over most of our foreign military operations. "I'm an internationalist. I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations."On other issues, Kerry wants "to almost eliminate CIA activity. The CIA is fighting its own war in Laos and nobody seems to care."
(End of excerpt)

Well, at least he says it with a straight face; but then, he can't help it, can he?
