Rarely has a U.S. general given his commander in chief better military advice, only to see it repeatedly rejected.

I recall MacArthur vs. Truman.(Korea) We are still paying for that one and also Patton vs. Truman.(Russia). Cest la vie.

Still though MO people and many others adore HST. Even Goldwater said HST was his favorite President.
