I’ve understood that Farage is not for Scottish independence.
That’s odd considering UKIP would be a big winner if they left.
Perhaps the idea of putting country before party interests is something so novel these days that it appears absurd. That isn’t how I think, and I doubt it is the way he thinks either.
Methinks it’s more about ‘energy independence’. EU is stuck on stupid with Russia.
It could also be that he doesn’t want to see an independence vote for Wales, Northumbria, Mercia and the other ancient kingdoms that made up the UK after the Romans left.
Or the losers....considering the REAL reason.
Who are the losers if the Scots secede from the commonwealth?
IMO, it would be the rest of Britain. They need the North Sea oil reserves to stave off dependency on Russia.
UK still has ‘some’ independence....unlike a big chunk of mainland Europe.

Erm, the Scots would still be selling most of the oil to us. They wouldn’t really have any scope for holding it over us as a trump card, because they’d be using our currency and they do 70% of their external trade with us vs 10% the other way.
The Scots will be the biggest losers in all of this. Capital is already fleeing the border to the South and the defence and financial sectors are all going to go south.
