He made it official to Arabic speakers when he went to Cairo. He recited shaheed in Arabic. That is a rock solid declaration of his faith. Whatever is thought of him, it is sure that he knows what it is to recite shaheed. He was educated in a moslem school when he was a child in Indonesia. He was taught shaheed and its significance there. It is a necessary part of the curriculum of any moslem school. Arabs and MidEasterners believe that he is Moslem.
