Harding is often derided by historians as being a poor President, I consider him to have been amongst the best in the 20th century

I agree 10000%.

And the last 10 rats (excepting Grover Cleveland and including Andrew Johnson) are probably the 10 worst Presidents ever.

>> Pryor is decidedly not a Southern Democrat in the traditional sense of the term. He is an Obama Democrat and his voting record proves it. His campaign thinks that Arkansas voters are too stupid to understand the difference. > <<

>> There haven't been any “Traditional Southern Democrats” in over 30 years in the south. <<

>> And the last 10 rats (excepting Grover Cleveland and including Andrew Johnson) are probably the 10 worst Presidents ever. <<

I have to agree with Captain Peter Blood and Impy... I'm not really seeing a difference between a "typical southern Democrat" and an "Obama Democrat", either. Clinton and Carter are probably the best known RATs from the deep south and both of them supported Obama and his marxist agenda. (and they're proudly pro-gay marriage, pro-Palestinian, pro-universal health care, etc.) Most of the southern Dems in Congress now are loyal Obamabots like Pryor, and only five southern RATs voted against Obamacare (two from Texas, two from Florida, and 1 from West Virginia). The rest of them sold their souls to Obama, and Pryor seems no different from his fellow southern RATs in that respect.

As Captain Peter Blood notes, the last time any ACTUAL "conservative" southern RATs had power and influence in government was over 30 years ago (and even back then, they represented a minority viewpoint in their own party as the RATs were heavily left wing socialists in the 1970s) Today any southern RAT Congressman or Senator who claims to be "conservative" or is marketed as such by the media isn't. They vote 95% liberal and get falsely labeled "conservative" blue-dog Dems because of their "tone".

In short, being a "typical southern Democrat" means being a rubber stamp for Obamaism.

Try getting a Conservative nominated as a Democrat. As soon as one declares themselves to be pro-marriage as set down by God, they are deemed “bigots” who must be removed from the ballot. A simple demonstration of how far gone the party is.

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/opinion/columnists/2014/09/16/james-strohman-iowa-gop-drop-straw-poll/15698375/

This guy thinks GOP should scrap it, on grounds it promotes “extreme” “unelectable” candidates (Bachmann won in 2011).

Dude has a short memory, Romney won in 2007.

Major disses of Phil Gramm and Steve Forbes, I’d have taken either over Dole.

But I don’t see much point in glorying this poll, it’s fairly meaningless.

Still amazed by the swift change in climate vis-vis gay marriage.

Just 10 years ago John Kerry was slamming Republicans for daring to suggest he might be for it! Obama only officially endorsed it a few years ago, when the pollsters told him it was safe.

Al Franken was one of the RATs who wrote and spoke extensively about the “right-wing smear” that “falsely” accused Kerry of “being in favor of gay marriage” when he “only favors civil unions for gay couples”:

Of course if the media had any integrity, they’d ask Franken why he thought it was a “smear” for a Democrat to be for gay marriage. Using their current logic, Kerry should have been applauded for being “on the right side of history” before it was popular to do so.
