"A lot of the recent rise in gun sales can be attributed to gun enthusiasts many of whom actually own multiple firearms ....."
Uh, WHAT? I just stumbled on to this "article" from back in July of this year. What an inane piece of feces. Do you "actually own multiple firearms"? "Actually"? What. Of course this comes from across the pond and the writer is obviously a clueless idiot writing about something she knows absolutely nothing about. Hey, but we all know carnage sells. Right?

It’s not the gun that does the damage. It’s the bullets after they leave the gun.

“A lot of the recent rise in gun sales can be attributed to gun enthusiasts many of whom actually own multiple firearms .....” Well, for once I can't be blamed for any of this... I haven't bought any more guns in the past few years. But I don't know??? I suspect that the author would consider a few dozen guns and enough lead, powder and primers to reload the brass I have a couple hundred thousand times to be excessive. I won't be inviting her over for tea any time soon.

Theres a new semi-automatic handgun on the horizon for the Army that U.S. consumers may have access to almost immediately. When that happens, Americas emergency rooms better be prepared for the carnage thats likely to follow. Why? Is the Army going to buy some P.O.S. that's likely to blow up?
Stupid author.

The article talks about more patients coming in with multiple gunshot wounds starting in the 1980s and the rise of semi automatics. Hmmm... It seems to me that the givernment (generally speaking including all levels) starting trying to ban/limit the sale of so-called Saturday night specials.
Unintended consequences....

You’re right and, in addition, semi-auto handguns have been available since very early in the 20th century... namely, the Browning Hi-Power, the Luger and the Mauser.

Edit: And, the Colt 1911.

I read the article, foolishly thinking there would be some connection between the title and the story, but it just turned out to be another mindless, hysterical anti-gun liberal rant. Lesson learned.

M1911As, Beretta 92FSs and Makaraovs are all "military" handguns in the hands of "civilians."
They are no more likely to be involved in crime than any other handgun. Probably less.
