The Islamic wackos ended up as the losers in Egypt, because the organization that had the greater potential for violence, the military, took over. In most of the areas where we’re meddling, there is no organization strong enough to maintain a cohesive nation once the existing government is gone.

Yeah, they’ve handed control over to whoever complains the loudest, and rewarded them by doing so. I’m not sure it’s completely unintentional though.

We are seeing the ramifications in foreign policy big time what with a Moslem president and all. And Domestic policy drives foreign policy when Moslems control enough districts in strategic states.

I agree domestic policy largely drives foteign policy. But am unclear how muslims can have such control. The total muslim population in USA is max 2% of the entire popluation & not all are citizens or of voting age? Also do they all vote democrat?

You got right to the heart of the matter but omitted the other important factor. That would be money and economic power. It can be argued that those with the economic power in Egypt control the military. At least there is a strong partnership between the two.

I don’t think our meddling can really accomplish much in the short run. I don’t think the people in the region will accept the ruthless imposition of Sharia and something less than a total theocracy will emerge.

The truth seems to be, there is no strong consensus and a course will eventually emerge. Time, perhaps lots of time, will be required to sort it all out.

The administration is full of Moslems, specifically Moslem Brotherhood people. The head of the CIA is probably Moslem. Then there is Valerie Jarrett who actually runs much of the administration. She is Iranian and ;her religion is never mentioned. She is extremely pro Moslem. And the president himself.

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

He recited Shaheed in Arabic in Cairo at the beginning of his administration. He is educated in Islam. He knows that reciting shaheed publicly is a binding declaration that one is Moslem.
